    July 24 SOTD

    Good morning, guys!

    Shavette Shave #285
    Dovo Shavette
    Personna Hairshaper SE Blade (1)
    Jayaruh #386 Silvertip Badger Brush
    Stirling Spice SS and AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's WH
    Whiskers: 24.5 hrs

Today, I decided to treat myself to one of my favorite setups.
Using my best brush, I got a great lather. The Stirling Spice scent really is awesome. It just permeates throughout the entire shave. I used an extreme light touch because a fresh Personna hairshaper is wickedly sharp and was rewarded with a 2 pass error-free BBS shave. I only needed to make a minor pickup on my lower neck and that sealed it. I will say that this was the best shave from a fresh Personna Hairshaper to date. I didn't get much alum feedback.
Finished with the witch hazel and double splashing of the matching aftershave. I did feel the burn from the aftershave. Have a great Saturday gents!

Clearly, you manage the money in the family! ;) Love the Gibbs! Whatever happened to the Gibbs Clone plans by the brush guy?

Lovely Senator shave, Gary! You’re becoming quite the fraghead, or at least addressing it more openly! :)

    :(

I guess this means I won’t get to buy that one, huh.

    Glad you like it.

I’ve found after a few times I like the blade loading/unloading mechanism better than the others. Remember not to close tightly with a blade loaded.

Scuttlebutt is there may be a kamisori type on the boards.

Thanks, Bill! I really like it. I don’t understand what you mean by ‘not to close tightly”? A Kamisori sounds interesting, but at this point in my shave journey not something I’m too interested in. I've shaved with my son’s Iwasuke Kamisori and with my old Feather SS Kamisori. Meh! Doesn’t get me too excited, although the edge on the Iwasuke was every bit as sharp as a Feather Super.

    Hi all....
I've used the @twhite DEvette so much I have neglected my other razors.
    Shame, shame.....
The last 2 weekends I decided to get out some of my lesser used tools and goo.
    20210724_111837.jpg
Today's choice was my 115 year old 1905 Gillette DE razor and a new Feather blade.
The Arko shaving stick I keep in a Colgate handy grip.
I lathered it around using an Ever-Ready 100 brush with a synthetic knot.
    The finish was Clubman Pinaid.
Guess I'll stay out of isle 12 today when shopping at the pig.
I find it easier to "rub" on the Arko using the side of the stick instead of the end.
That's the reason the paper-foil has been removed.
The Colgate container helps me easily store it.
A very good shave both head and face,
I'm ready for my day.... off.:)

    Enjoy

    tp

Color me impressed, Terry! A Gillette double ring! Those babies go for a pretty penny nowadays! Great shave, as ever! Just got back from my first bike ride (only 16 miles) after rehab. My bride is a regular 100 mile girl. I’m working my way back! Enjoy your weekend!
