Quite pleased with this morning's shave. I tried to get the brush a little less moist before digging into the soap. The Central Texas Soaps takes on water at a rapid rate. Must be the reason for the "pond in the middle of the desert"(my quotes, no plagiarisms please, chuk yuk yuk). 0:40 to load onto the Jayaruh. All the "shave" bases were covered well. While I didn't get a cut or Knick, the cut and Knick from a couple days ago are still there, requiring an "easy goes it"strategy on and around them. I should have done a little better up NE Porcupine, but I'm at the point where it's better to be safe than sorry...don't want to get a cut or Knick there. Course that goes for ANYWHERE. Good work down at Cactus Nation. The jawline under the left ear looks good-it's been driving me crazy of late. I suppose it's time to think of Chris Bailey(Fine)here....just "get it". Easier time controlling the Aqua Velva-perhaps this "cupping" persuasion is the way to go for all aftershaves, just to be safe. Super Duper Excellent.
Great shavette shave Danny! Have an Alabama awesome day! Fine shave Paul! Btw, I always have my hands cupped when I pour my aftershave.
Today's a no shave day for me. However, I decided on the razor for tomorrow's shave. It will be the Thiers-Issard straight razor. As far as the software, I am undecided. I probably use one of my synthetic brushes, but I am not sure of my choice of soap. Have a great day guys!
Thank you Jim. I hope get it better this time. The Tatara is waiting at the FedEx store for me to pick up on the way home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SE Shave # 204 - MICROMATIC MONDAY Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: GEM Micromatic Open Comb Blade: GEM Stainless Brush: Big Cyprass 24mm Silver Tip Lather: Uncle Jon’s Gravity (JustOneJuly Soap Weekdays) Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk Osage Rub Additional Care: Stirling Alum Block Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera Nivea Cool Balm Happy Monday gentlemen. Going to be an extremely warm and muggy today so I busted out the Osage Rub. Another solid MMOC shave was delivered via the three pass shave. The badger brush easily whipped up a voluminous lather, enough for four passes if I had desired to do so. Some more chores are on the agenda for the early part of the day. Hope you have an enjoyable day gentlemen.
Great shavette shave, Danny! When are you taking that beautiful vintage straight of your out for a ride?
So cool! I don't know what you're going to do but I would put the Ambassador focus on hold while I played with my new toy. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see which razor comes out to play. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
July Focus AoS Peppermint~~Simpson 90th Anniversary Astor~~Friodur 472~~AoS Green Lavender Took a much-needed weekend off and drove to an undisclosed location, far away from civilization and prying eyes to meet with my closest associates: They were kind enough to pose for a group photo: Refreshed and rejuvenated, I returned to a morning shave, still adhering to my focus. Seeing it's quite hot and Menthol-Monday, I chose the AoS peppermint. Careful to add water very slowly, the 90th anniversary Astor quite adeptly created a lovely lather. The Twins got a good stropping for no reason other than I am boss and will strop who and what I please. They must have approved, because the 3-pass shave was excellent and they did a great job on my lower neck. Again, because of the weather, I opted for a real "barbershop" scent, again, from Art of Shaving: This juice just makes you smile. Minty, green and teeming with lavender. You can sometimes find this juice at Burlingtons for around $15.00 (retail $100.00+) If you see a bottle, grab it. You will not be disappointed.
