Clint @clint64 PIFed this soap to me a while back and I don't know why I don't reach for it more often. This is good stuff and I'm always impressed everytime I use it.

I decided to break out a shavette that I have not used on a while. The Dovo completed two very nice passes. I think I may like the Vanta a little more. It seems to feel more natural in the hand. The Dovo ain't no slouch and does a great job.

I have a few toys coming in today to try out. Ryan @PLANofMAN was very gracious and offered his Essence by Tedalus up for a pass around. I was able to get on the list and the Essence should be in my hand today. Ryan also throwed in an IBC razor in the pass around as well. Needless to say.....I'm excited!

I hope everyone has a great humpday!

Quickly approaching the end of this month's "focus", I am satisfied that using a straight razor
daily will hone your skills quite a bit.

I have to say, I must have done a better job on the strop, as the blade was less harsh than yesterday.
Tallow Williams laid down a very slick, protective coating and three passes later,
I am clean shaven. No baby chasing this morning.
    Uber-manly juice on the docket.

Great juice, which appears to have been discontinued on the Gucci website,

but still readily available on the internet. Worth a look.

As I've been suggesting I might do, I DID call an audible at the sink of scrimmage-replacing the Rocky Mtn. Barber Barbershop with Barbasol Pacific Rush. Glad I did. But I should have done better at N. Cactus Nation, towards the middle. Left too much for tomorrow. I also left a little at S. Porcupine Alley(chin). Did great along the cheeks&sideburn areaas, But I was pleasantly surprised at how the Barbasol exited the can....cloudy, not squiggly. I like THAT. One pass, although I should have made it 1.5 and completed the chin and S. Porcupine. Good job with the Osage A.S. to close. Pretty Excellent.

Nice shave Paul! It is been many awhile since I used the canned lather. I remember when a can was new that the lather would come out as clouds and not like a wiggly snake. When the can is older, you get more snake like foam because you used up the gas propellant that ejects the lather. It seems to me that when you get the snake like lines, then it signifies that the can of lather has run its course.

I decided to use a shavette this morning because I didn't want to strop a straight. Frankly, I was being lazy. Lol! Anyway, let me get on with the post.
I will be using Elly's Wonder Shop SS more frequently because I want to put it to bed once and for all. I like the soap because it lathers well and has a mild floral scent that I can pair any aftershave with it.

I did a 2 pass shave with the first pass going WTG and the last going ATG. Did a minor touchup and ended with a bloodless near BBS shave. Post shave was pretty routine. Splashed on a heavy dose of the Veg to finish the session. I noticed that the Veg had a sweeter vibe today. I do not know if it was due to the comingling of the scent of the soap or if it was the aging effect of the Veg. Either way, it was a nice surprise. Have a great day gents!

Fabulous shavette shave, Danny. I hope you have an AC blade for the Tedalus. If so, you’ll see that it handles, feels and shaves like a straight. I’ll be interested in your thoughts.

That makes some sense about old vs. new. Clubman Shave Cream comes out like a snake, but it's been around since the early 19th century. Frustrates me, but you get a nice shave once it's on your face&neck. Pacific Rush was a recent idea from Barbasol.
