    Essence by Tedelus razor

Scottish Antique by Andy Hilfiger cologne

Super lather this morning. I appreciate Dave @Dave in KY Pifing this soap my way. It was a little extra something he throwed in a box a while back and I really enjoy it.

Now on to the Tedalus. I have referred to this razor as a shavette but I don't think a shavette description does it justice. It just doesn't feel like a shavette in the hand. After running a DE Blade this morning I also think this razor will really benefit from an AC style blade better. Don't get me wrong....it does a wonderful job with the DE blade but it feels like the razor is being held back if that makes sense.

The razor is definitely a different animal to load and the magnets do an excellent job holding everything together. It seems a little difficult at first but once you figure it out it is no problem.

I completed two passes with a few touch ups. The alum was a little warm in a few places but nothing major. The razor handles very nicely and feels secure in the hand. I appreciate the nice grip in the jimp area....very thoughtful. The long tail doesn't get in the way and makes for a nice pinkie rest.

I'm looking forward to spending more time with the razor and we will see how a Pro Guard blade does in the morning. Let's get it out of first gear and open it up a little.

The first run was very nice and I appreciate Ryan @PLANofMAN letting me be a part of this pass around.

I finished the shave with a little witch hazel and Scottish Antique by Andy Hilfiger cologne.

I included a few pics of the underside of the razor. You normally don't see pics of this area but this razor is finished nicely in all areas.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

The shipping cost was almost half that of the product. I wonder if I unknowingly chose the "super duper" shipping...that gets delivered quicker than the other choices.

On the survey, the race for second, third, and fourth, is too close to call. I mean after all, the thing is a tie..that's a little too close, right, (chuk yuk yuk). Back with the final result commentary at the end of the month.

Great review, Danny! Glad you enjoyed the razor! You’ve reinforced my decision to stick with AC blades in my Tedalus. To me, at least, it feels no different than shaving with a well-honed straight when loaded with an AC blade. I’ll be interested in your thoughts! Have an Alabama awesome day, and try not to wilt in that powerful humidity! :)

Gary, now that I just ordered that parfum/cologne from The House Of Swiss Arabia, I've decided to hold back on the Burberry Brit, for now.

    Thanks, Jeff!

They are the same razor in different metals. I've read comparisons of the two that say the 17-4 stainless feels harder than the softer feel of the titanium. I'm not sure about that. I'm guessing it's the difference in weight between the two.

What is Eau de" Larry", anyway? The one coming is that Swiss Arabia one I just saw yesterday. Course I still have a lot of the Passion and Pierre Cardin. You're right-Burberry Brit will always be available.

The Bay Rum belongs to one of his best scents.
    Whips up particularly well:

The Wosty did a great job. I was successful finding the correct grip and angles.
Didn't follow the traditional 3 pass order, rather I mixed it up.
Neck work gets only a B-
Everywhere else is a solid A
Haven't reached for the Burt's Bees in a while:

I really like this version of Bay Rum. It's rich and complex.
My review, as it appears in Fragrantica.
