Thanks. There is a Little mark in the TdH area. She ask if it might have been a tick but I did not pull tick off of that area. Go figure.
Ryan, you did good work on the Tedalus! It’s the perfect lazy man’s razor. Always perfectly sharp, beautiful to behold and consistently capable of a great shave.
SOTD FRIDAY MORNING, JULY 30, 2021 Woke up to a sunny day. We’ve had a contractor installing three doors since Wednesday. They finished the sun porch door, have almost completed the front door, and claim they’ll finish the third door leading from the garage by end of day today! Whew! They start quite early (7:00 AM), which interfered with this morning’s shave. I think I spooked him when I opened the front door with my lathered mug and a straight razor in hand. Nevertheless, the shave proceeded apace and featured the Herder Ace of Spades for my mug and the Rex Ambassador for the dome. Three passes for the dome, and two ATG for the noggin, and all is right with the world. I wish all my shave brothers and sisters a blessed day today. RAZOR: Herder Ace of Spades 15/16 (Mug), Rex Ambassador (Dome) BLADE: Feather DE PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil BRUSH: MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handle #007 Hybrid Knot CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature Scent POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Alt-Innsbruck AS/Cologne.
July 30, 2021 Tatara Muramasa @ 5 Gillette 7 O’clock Black Simpson CH3 Synthetic Mitchell’s Wool Fat Grand Bay Rum Aftershave Happy Friday! Happy Friday! This week has been a pretty good week. I just had to use the Fat for a Fat Friday shave. The CH3 synthetic is a true soap destroyer. It ate through the Fat whipping up a wonderful rich slick lather. I went with the Muramasa today and dialed the setting up to the max, 5. This setting has a blade gap of 0.90mm and a blade exposure of 0.17mm. This is the same blade gap as the Nodachi with more blade exposure. While the Nodachi seemed to draw blood each shave, the Muramasa was smooth and drama free. I guess the overall geometry of the razor just works better for me. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS. I can't ask for better. I hope everyone has a great Friday.

That Muramasa sure sounds sweet, Clint! I did my dome on 6 with the RA this morning. You are a master enabler, my friend! I bet Jim’s already ordered his by now!
Thanks, Jeff! No, I haven't ordered the Muramasa. Well, not yet anyway. It is on the short list. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Essence by Tedelus razor Feather Pro Guard (fresh) MrEE LE #011 handle with Dscosmetics synthetic knot. Mitchell’s Wool Fat shave soap Cremo Bourbon and Oak EdT Awesome Fat lather this morning. Evan's brush handle is a joy to use and looks great doing it. If you load the Fat heavy and then beat the brakes off of it you will be rewarded with some of the best lather in the industry. Bill @Edison Carter sent me a Feather Pro Guard to use in the Essence and I loaded it up this morning. I will go ahead and just say it.......don't even worry about a DE blade in the Essense. The AC style blades are the way to go and this razor begs for them. Yesterday we were in 1st gear....today we were on the Autobahn in overdrive and still pulling hard. Two very and I mean very nice passes with just a few touch ups. The alum gave very little feed back today. The Pro Guard blade is nice and I'm careful not to get to comfortable with it.....always respect the blade. The razor feels and handles amazing. I am by no means an experienced straight razor shaver but the Essence does feel like a conventional straight. Thought for the day....are we seeing the future of open blade shaving? I don't know but I feel straights will always be there. This razor is definitely on the precipice of something special and possibly a new market segment. I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday. Thanks Ryan and Bill.
Real nice shave this morning. 0:55 total(in sets of 0:45 and 0:10) to load the Stoylin Glacial soap onto the Maggard Marble Handle. It's cold all right(the soap)but my skin is used to it by now, therefore I didn't react right away with the sound you see at the bottom of my post.* Excellent coverage over the face and neck, and I'm beginning to do "sweeping" motions with the soap, to add to the already discussed "painting". 2 passes. No Knicks/Cuts. Missed a little at the southern border of Porcupine Alley and Cactus Nation(actually on the CN side). As you've read from my posts, there were many times when I just felt one pass was enough, so why do the second. This was one of those times, but as described above, I went ahead with the second. The Vetiver A.S.(Guerlain, Paris)came on with strength. Even put some on my forehead. Closed things off with Passion 4 Men fragrance. Super Duper Excellent. *AAAAGHEEEEYEOWWWWMAMA
