1962 brit rocket knob same size as handle .II stamped on baseplate.. my earlier diamond plate rocket has a slightly larger twist knob diameter. this #54a razor appears identical to the "parat" razor but without the "II" on the blade plate ealier version with thicker twist knob.
fabulous #15 ..the third gen atistocrat is said to be the heaviest, smoothest and most efficient of the 4 generations of non adjustable brit crats.
Dunno if my choice violates the rules here or not, because my choice is neither elegant nor rare. It's not sought-after or a general source of pride for its owner. But I think the finest Gillette razor, by far, is this beat up old Super Speed! Thanks to the Shave Nook, I think I've pinned it as a 1950. This $1 razor was responsible for getting me into this Wet Shaving World, and even though I've got a few more razors now, it's still the finest Gillette EVER, in my humble opinion! - Bax
There aren't any qualifying "rules" really, as "Gillette's Finest" is subjective. I may hate a Gillette Super Speed and you may think it's the greatest razor in the world. BTW, nice Super Speed!
definitively an icon razor, one of my favorites.this thread is for yours and everyone else's "finest" gillettes, not just the rare, pretty, or expensive ones..i really enjoy early techs, they are some of the most humble ones...thank you for sharing yours here..
brit fb new. basically an open comb brit fb tech. thought i would try it with a rarely used brit new rfb handle.late model,no pat numbers. fine balance.
Sweet. The only set I've seen that open ball handle in, is the 1930s №. 44, which I have without the case. The №. 44 has different NEW rfb head pieces as well.
