  1. Great Ralf Aust shave, Joe! Why replace THAT AS, spare the olfactory environment!
  2. You’re the expert, Maestro! I’ve had this stuff since wife #1. And you’re right! I realized the similarity after use. She liked it and purchased it for me. In all honesty, I do appreciate Tabac’s latherability. I play up the whole scent thing because i like to get a rise out of Charlie. I really don’t like it, but it’s tolerable. I go hyperbolic on the scent thing because with Charlie it’s like farting loudly in church! :D

  6. Wonderful Wosty shave Joseph! I must say that you know your scents very well! Have a great afternoon!
  7. Thank you Jeff! I am just fortunate that I enjoy Clubman products. I really like their talc because it brings back a time when I used to be in a barber's chair getting a haircut.

  8. Well I did a headshave this afternoon. I used my Model T with an Astra blade (blue) at the most aggressive setting (6). I used Elly's Wonder Shop Mysterium Paracelsus SS for the very first time on a headshave. I was impressed with the slickness and latherability on my head. Three passes gave me a BBS shave.

Normally, I do not post my headshaves. However, I have a skin tag behind my ear and accidently nicked it without realizing it. I got blood on my fingers and it got on my new white T shirt. It is difficult to get blood stains out of clothing, let alone a white cotton shirt.
Well I had to go in Chem. teacber mode to try and get the stain out. At first, I hit it with some alcohol and then I used the Mysterium Paracelsus SS combined with the Tabac plus bleach and rubbing it under hot water. Repeated the process a number of times and the stain is gone. Tabac does wonders for shaves as well as stubborn stains. Gotta love it!

  9. I'm almost certain it will be collectible. I haven't heard if he's sold out the initial run, I doubt he has, since advertising is by word of mouth right now. I expect that will change once he starts running Facebook ads and gets a prominent barber or two to pick one up and review it.

I've been trying to figure out how to convince my wife that I need a second one to just leave in the box unopened for my collection.

It's an uphill battle, since open blade razors and shavettes are not typically thought of as high end razors. But the Essence certainly has turned that view on it's head.

I do know that Manuel has said he does not plan to use the same finish and color on future runs of the Essence, and he would rather not repeat the design at all. He would rather make a new design for each run.

None of that is set in stone, so don't take it as gospel truth. But it does align with his goal to make unique and exclusive objects d'art that shave well too.

  13. In the past, I bought it from my local drugstore. In fact, I went to the drugstore and it was not on the shelf. Either they ran out or they are not going to restock it. I did not ask so I really do not know the status of it. There are other drugstores and some supermarkets that have it. I don't like buying an item online unless it is the only way to obtain it. I rather avoid shipping costs. Moreover, why wait for an item when I can get it immediately?

  15. Great Puma shave, Joe! I picked up a finishing slate on Glen’s recommendation, and it is amazing. I built the sweetest edge on my Herder 49 Ace of Spades. It was Feather Super Sharp! Tomorrow marks the kickoff of the Pennsyltucky Chapter of the 30DC. Bill and I are meeting for breakfast, and then have a series of high end straight razor seminars scheduled for the afternoon around the pool. Of, course there will be liquid libations to the Shave Gods to ensure future prosperity! :D

  18. Spent some time with the wife and grandboy today. We went to several flea malls.

    Look what followed me home.

A 1972 first quarter Gillette and a 100T Ever-Ready brush that's looks unused. The Gillette is getting a spa treatment right now. This is as found picture.

I did not have this model of Gillette.

I was hoping to find a used Essence by Tedelus razor but failed in that attempt for some reason. :( Hey don't laugh I would have at least went up to $50.00.
