Happy Monday Everyone. Back to the work week again. All the hardware and software played well together this morning. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS shave. I really can't ask for better to start the week. I am going to take a break from the 30DC thread for a while. A couple of parting tips. I add 2 drops of glycerin per oz to each of my aftershaves. This improves the skin care properties and for me at least as eliminated the need for balms. I add menthol to my witch hazel. That way I get a dose of super freeze each morning. I will check in from time to time. I wish you all well. Take care and have a fantastic day.

  2. Fabulous shave summary and kit as usual, Clint. You and Jim have always been two of the mainstays around here. We’ll miss those great summaries and photos of yours and Jim’s, but everybody deserves a break. At least it isn’t an involuntary one as mine was. Enjoy your shaves and your families! We’ll keep the lights on around here, God willing! Take care and have fun! :)
  3. Thanks, Joe. I have no clue who made this soap.

Fatboy to (7) today. No reason. Very mild shave at this setting.
Day 2 of the soap. No discernible scent. Better lather, but still tends to fade.
    One must face lather
aggressively and not lallygag whilst shaving.

Dr. Mrs. Primo picked today's scent:

This is a safe, oud scent that doesn't exhibit any barnyard qualities.

    Won't break the bank, either.

  6. Fabulous fragrant FATBOY shave, Joseph. As our acknowledged ancient shave soap historian I pulled this out from the bottom of the pile. It may have been my dad’s or grandfather’s, but frankly I don’t remember how I came to have it. Any recommendations for using/resuscitating it? Is it worth a spin? :eatdrink013: 969F1EC1-D343-480B-8C92-DC614D2E4514.jpeg 1DF1D204-C2F6-4EC4-A1EB-09737DE15648.jpeg

No shave yesterday. Awesome drama free shave with the Essence this morning. Two full passes and three on the neck.

The Essence is a joy to operate but I did find one very disappointing problem with the razor. If you leave a blade in the Essense and close it the blade will contact the inside of the scale area.

I'm sure this will be corrected on future razors but with all of the thought that went into this razor it is interesting that this got through.

The alum feedback was nominal. A good splash of witch hazel and a few squirts of Royal Copenhagen and this lovely shave was in the bag.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday.

  8. Ryan had posted about that design blip before I purchased mine. I routinely remove the blades after any shave, so it was no biggie for me! Glad your Tedalus shave otherwise went well! How could it not have? Enjoy your day, and don’t let the young know-it-all pups get to you! Stay cool, Danny! :)
