    DE Shave # 354

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Ming Shi Futur Clone
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: Epsilon Horse Hair
Lather: Uncle Jon’s Gravity (1508.5 Project)
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk
    Additional Care:
    Nivea Cool Balm
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Tea Tree Witch Hazel
First and foremost, surgery update: Postponed. (All surgeries are c called for tomorrow). I m not sure why. It looks like I will have to wait until mid September. :angry019:

Moving forward with the 1508.5 Project, the soap probably has 7 or 8 shaves left in it. The Ming Shi is the only adjustable DE razor I have in the den. I usually shave with it set to number 4 of 6. I cn get a very nice close shave with the razor. The only challenge is the head is on the bulky side which creates some difficulty getting just under the nose. With practice I have managed to work through the issue.

Hope you are having a great day gentlemen.
  10. absolutely.:):eatdrink047:

  15. Great shave, Joe! I used to own the Futur, and never liked the bulky head. These days it wouldn’t be an issue for me with the goatee. :)
  16. Hi all!
    I'm not feeling well.
Probably something I ate yesterday, once it leaves my system I'll be fine.
But it takes a day or two to complete it's tour.
Now I've got my motorcycle torn down for maintenance, but I'm really not in any condition to put it back together.
I thought I could so I disassemble it today, but the auto parts store gave me the wrong uky-pucky.
I need to get the right goo before assembly can take place.
Anti-sezing paste for the spark plugs.
They gave me the stuff for the plug wires..
That will teach me to look before I leave.
Trying to be productive, I've taken some photos of tools.

    For your consideration....

    The last Friday shave.

Wir stellen meinen Spannen Offnen Single Edge Rasierer vor.

My German Golf single edge razor that uses unbroken double edge blades.
It has a safety bar but its so far away from the blade it really doesn't do much.
Matched with a Feather blade its a great shaver.

The Never Fail single edge razor for the Saturday shave.
Matched with a Schick B-20 blade this gives a mild but close shave.

Sunday I used my French Globe Trotter with a cut down Feather Profesional Super blade.
I keep this razor around because it looks so mean.
It gives a great shave and even though the blades are no longer available.
Chopping an end off a feather SP is easy and makes it usable.

    Well Monday morning and....
    20210803_184318.jpg
Back to old reliable with a Feather DE blade.

Even though it wasn't August I have to give a honorable mention to one of my first SE razors.

The GEM Junior with a brass head and a baklite handle.
Matched with a Perssona GEM SS blade, a wonderful shave.

Last weekends wandering through my collection of tools that, at the very least, need some play time.

If you see an old razor that is cheap.
You might want to spend a 20 to give it a good home.
That's where all these came from.
You might be surprised by the quality of the shave..

    Enjoy
