To get the numbers to line up just take the adjuster plate and cap off and rotate 180 degrees on the base.

    Will do.
Edit: I did it. No problem. Only about 16 hours until my TARMAX shave.

Thanks, Edison. Had my first shave, and it was a great one. The only real problem I had was taking the blade out to rinse it. The Astra SP is a tight fit on the top plate. I set the adjustment to 5.5 and went at it. I rode the cap mostly. I could hear the whiskers being cut but it was not loud. The handle stayed on 5.5 for both passes and touch ups. It was overall a very pleasing and successful first shave with the TARMAX. Thanks again, Tom.

    Here is the evidence.

Jim feel free to take a file to the standing section that hold the blade. just a small bit should free it up for you.
still watching FYI I have spare springs.

    Cold Water Rinse
    L'Occitane Shaving Soap
    Jayaruh #414 Silvertip Badger
    TARMAX by Tom
    Astra SP
    CWR
    Lustray Spice After Shave

The L'Occitane Shaving Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #414 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the TARMAX Razor by Tom (5.5) with an Astra SP Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

When I cleaned up today, I again had difficulty separating the cap from the base plate. So, I took the advice of Tom and took a file to the undersides of the cap and base plate. I put it together and found it was easier to separate the two pieces. I will shave with the TARMAX tomorrow and prepare it for the next victim, uh, tester.

My take after using this is this like a shavette meets a Gem style single edge razor. The shave angle for both is almost the same so you have to shave them almost the same way. It is like a shavette in that the blade has no bend in it when loaded and like a gem razor because of the safety guard.

The difference in usability is that the head of Gem razors is angled vis a vis the handle. Not a big deal for me on the beard but the "natural angle" of the Gems makes them a lot easier to use on my head shave. I'm old and have bursitis so there's that.

    Update.

As I liked how my TARMAX turned out function wise. Also that having some conversations with @BBS I designed an Injector and SE version.

I just finished my first go with the injector. Very nice shave. From mildish to aggressive in a single razor. I need to work on the SE more for loading. Too tight of tolerance.

    An injector! Whoooaaaaaa!

    Manual load, yes?

Yes. So technically not a true injector. Just takes the blades.
I need to give it some finishing touches. If you guys are interested I will pass this around also. We will use the same pass around list.
    Let me know.

Very cool Tom. Same handle as TARMAX DE?

Yes same handle and same geometry. I only modified the size to accommodate the injector blade. Same will hold for the SE version. I like the simplicity of the adjustment.
