When your young you want to be able to grow a big, husky, manly beard.
Just to find out what a curse it is as you grow older.
    Well....
You and others who post their adventures in shaving here has taught me a lot.
Reading and learning what and what not to do.
I can grab any razor in my collection, or a new razor never used before, with a sharp blade, and get a great shave.

I'm still not in love with shaving mind you.
But instead of having that awful feeling like you get when you miss a nail and smack your thumb.
I get the feeling that comes over you after a cool shower, finishing up a long hot work day, with a cold beer waiting on ya.
Quite a difference in my attitude to say the least.

I hated shaving until I got into this hobby. Now, I hate my no shave days. Btw, today is a no shave day for me.

    Thanks Jeff.
Before wet shaving and real razor blades I used a BIC single edge razor.
    The orange and white one.
Anything with more than one blade was totally unusable.
    I didn't know any better.
Not being very sharp, it was a tug of beard to shave every day.
I used one and done with them too.
But I never got a good or comfortable shave.
The older I got the worse it got.
    They were just to dull.
I literally still have hundreds of them around the house still.
Gonna give them to the church one day when I bag them up for their outreach program.
Covid blew that up for now but it will start up again.
After I got my technique down and could use Feather blades, my whole shaving experience and aditude changed.
I no longer have to put up with the pain and agony of the daily chore.

Wish I'd learned earlier in life.

I found the mug in a little antique store in Kentucky.
It had a brush, Schick Krona, and that mug for 5 bucks.
    All in good condition.
I don't need anymore shave stuff, but 5 bucks!
Last night my wife exclaimed that she couldn't remember my face being so scratchy.
Well to be honest I let it grow out a couple days probably twice a year.

    But its not pretty!

    So......

I couldn't shave for 3 straight days while in the hospital. As soon as I got home, I showered and shaved, even before "unpacking".

I shaved with the same Schick Krona for 50 yrs until it broke. I was never a cart shaver. The only cart I ever tried was the Omnishaver that my youngest son bought for me for my noggin shaves after seeing the ads. He thought it would save me time! Hah! At this point in my life, my shave is the highlight of my day. In any case after three uses, never got as close as my SEs or DEs on the old dome, and ended up with ingrown hairs on the back of my neck. That was it for me and carts!

Happy enough with my shave today-almost a carbon copy of yesterday's. One cut at the chin(no, not from "ice-chipping"...a little north of that area). 1:00 to load the Stoylin li'l brudder with the Razorock Lime Burst. Except for the cut, a nice clean, fresh shave-once again retracing my "misses" to get them. Stoylin Glacial Lime for the A.S. Goes on STRONG with that glacial persuasion. Closed out with my new male parfum from the Swiss Arabia "house". Kind of a mix of the Private Oud(from SA)and the samples I had(also from them). Spicy, woody. Most definitly a fall/winter type. I think that the season persuasion can be said for the other two "partfums" I have, as well. Super Duper Excellent.
