  1. Vib'Raz, Famex / Feather (2). Even on a fairly mild setting the Famex has more blade feel than the Vib'Raz. It's stellar on my head but a little rough ATG on my chin compared to the Vib'Raz. [IMG]

  2. Wonderful shave Terry. I agree with you assessment of the feeling of being clean shaven. Have a great day
  3. Very nice Angelo.

  4. Not sure about the “ice chipping” method. I would imagine based on my experience with the chipping of ice off of the car windows that it is a to aggressive of an approach. Very nice shave Paul
  5. Very nice shave with two beautiful razors Jeff.
  6. Well, one and one aren't EXACTLY the same. But the "action" of working the jawbone this way does remind me of chipping ice off cars. Aggressive-ness is the key difference I'd say.
  7. Adjustable August

    AoS Lavender~~Simpson Emperor 3~~Fatip Lo Storto/Wizamet SI~~Vintage Dior Homme
    I am abandoning the "
adjustable" aspect of this month for the time being.
As I no longer own any Arko, I will eschew using that urinal puck as well.
I replaced my just purchased and trashed tub of AoS Lavender with a lovely, fresh tub.
HUGE difference. The cream is soft; the scent is fantastic; the lather was amazing:

Use caution when building a large shave soap/cream shave den. The creams mos def© have limited shelf life.
The Italian razor was loaded with the soon-to-be final usage of the Polish Wizamet SI.

The shave was quite lovely. There was a bit of tugging on the left side of my neck,
however, nothing egregious, indeed a very smooth shave.
The house of Dior really changed the game when they introduced this perfume:

Many, MANY reformulations later and it has become quite confusing what Dior Homme is what.
If you look at my bottle, you will notice that "DIOR" is etched on the silver stem.
    This is the only way you can identify the original formulation. They would later remove the etching;
then change the stem to black
and change the sprayer button to gray from black.
  8. Thanks Joe.
I grew a full beard once about 25 years ago.
    Lasted a month.
Now my wife wants me to keep my goatee I grew for her wishes.
    I'm so far keeping it.
    But sometimes its to much.
    Just to much.

  12. Cool razors, Jeff. I noticed that my Famexes have fewer bars on the cage than yours. Does that make mine newer or older or was that an order option? Just curious? Enjoy your Sunday!

  13. Nice slant shave, Maestro!
  14. Thanks, Bill! I worry about the edge and the forge welds impacting the keenness. :)
  15. Amazon, cheap $10 razor. Good for the price but going in my on the way out pile. I've been thinking about a goal of reducing my modern razors to just the ones I want to shave with regularly. And then just continue to collect the oddball antique razors I find interesting.
  16. I’ve thought the same but have no experience with pattern welded cutters of any type.

My kids did commission local to make a custom piece as a Christmas gift one year.

Pretty on display but one look at it through a glass convinced me to keep it on display.

The craftsman was not a wet shaver so I issue no fault.

  17. The '33 patent shows 13 like mine, while there is a '37 patent for a flipped cage version that shows 7 like my RazVite, so I'll speculate the fewer teeth came later as being less prone to clogging.[IMG]

Last shave with the Essence by Tedelus.

    Essence by Tedelus
    Feather Professional (2)
MrEE LE #011 brush handle with Dscosmetics synthetic knot.
Abbate Y La Mantia Volcano shave soap.
    Cremo Bourbon and Oak EdT

Awesome lather this morning and I love the peppery scent of the Abbate Y La Mantia shave soap.

I have really enjoyed the Essence razor. It is a joy to drive and feels great in the hand. I completed three passes on the neck and two on the cheeks. It was a no drama Sunday shave.

So would I own an Essence? I think I would like to but it is hard for me to justify the price. I'm proud for anyone who owns one and they own a very nice tool. I appreciate Ryan @PLANofMAN giving me this opportunity to try this baby out. Joe @JACarbone is next on the list and the razor will be on its way to him tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a great day.
  19. Thanks again, Jeff! I knew you’d have the answer. :)
  20. Great shave report and photo, Danny! I do love my Tedalus! The Feather Super is perfect for my shaves with it. Enjoy your day!
