Jeff, you and I both did a "shaving cream in a tub" today. I had Simpson's.

Good shave this morning. My "opening shave" with Simpsons from England. I liked seeing the instructions on the tub side, but it left me wondering. It says to dip the tips of the brush into the cream. Didnt say anything about swirling. Then it says use "paint-brush like" motion on your face and neck. Do they really mean just dip and prepare, no swirling? I swirled some anyway, but realized I was picking up a lot of soap in just a few swirls. Maybe you don't need to swirl much when it's plain shaving cream. Comments, suggestions? Anyway, the overall shave was fine. As it was in a tub, I did 2 passes. One Knick, but the glacial A.S. killed it. Was careful enough to go back and redo areas that I felt needed a redo. Man that Stoylin Glacial A.S. comes on strong(I think I said that yesterday, but...same result). . I'll give myself a Very Excellent, as I need confidence in their instructions per the swirling persuasion.

First check of the survey-and we find "Love Me Some Arko..yes, yes yes" with a lead of 5 votes over the others with the exception of "Arko is for kids" who, 9 days in, still stands at the starting gate with zero votes. the 4 others have 1 vote each. The 4-way tie is interesting, but it could fluctuate as the month goes on. "Love Me Some Arko" looks good to win here, but I'm not QUITE ready for a projection of that persuasion.

I had planned on grabbing the Fine Snake Bite for menthol Monday but for some reason I grabbed the Fat. My mornings are getting difficult...I hear the MOLC calling. Oh well.....the Fat is good stuff as well and lathered up great.

I just went with two quick passes with a few touch ups and man did this razor combo work.....smooth.

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

    Good morning guys!

    Shavette shave # 291
    Parker SRB
    1/2 Rockwell DE Blade (1)
    Semogue OC SHD Badger Brush
Stirling Blood on Steel LE 2019 SS and AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's WH
    Whiskers: 37 hrs

    20210809_104559.jpg
I decided to use my Parker shavette again with a fresh blade. Man, this razor really did a great job on my 37 hr stubble. Two and a half passes gave me a great BBS shave without incident. The Semogue brush did a great job stirring up the soap and producing a nice, slick, creamy lather. I remember that I was not happy with this brush because it was a lather hog. I realized that I had to heavy load the brush to get the lather that suited me to overcome this lather hogging brush.
The Stirling BoS (Tsuka) scent is really very nice to start the week and to perk me up on another dreary LI day. Btw, I have hit the bottom of the 3 oz container so that the green circle is evident. This is another soap that I will be using more frequently to deep-six it. Applied the alum that gave me some feedback on my neck and the witch hazel. Finished with a nice portion of this sweet smelling aftershave. Have a great day guys!

Non-adjustable August is well-underway here in the Heartland.
To re-state the importance of fresh product is worth the few extra keystrokes.
The SiLVERTiP knot in the Commodore delivers a lather to the face like no other.
The hair is blissful and just dense enough to caress, but not hog the suds. Excellent flow-through.
The slant delivers a clean shave. Why? 1) good blade exposure, 2) intuitive angle, 3) holds blade securely.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's the blade that shaves you, not the razor.
That being said, props go to the Polish Wizamet Super Iridium. The blade has long been a favorite
in the shavers' circles, and with good reason. Sweet edge and goose fat smooth.
Finished the shave with a product from the house of Milton Lloyd: No. 10 Mojo.

This is a pressurized spray can. The atomizer spreads the juice evenly.

This is apparently a clone of Tom Ford Oud Wood. Not having ever smelled the OG,
I can't vouchsafe for that claim, however, I will say it smells yummy. Woody, fresh, aromatic.
    Me likey. :happy088:
