I think that's what the Chemistry Professor from Long Island was getting at. I'll try it with Simpson's, which will be a few days from today. Do you just do one pass, or two?

Paul, I usually do a couple of passes and touch ups and have lather left over. Keep working the lather, and you should have plenty. The added benefit of taking extra time is that your beard is getting conditioned well. If you need more lather, just add another fingertip's worth (or two) of shaving cream to your face and carry on.

If you have extra lather at the end of your shave and don't want to waste it, you can put the brush squeezin's back into the container. I won't tell anybody. :)

Occasionally when I need a quick shave, I will apply shaving cream to my face and work up a lather with my hands. It works, but it's not as satisfying as building a "proper" lather with a brush. It'll do in a pinch, though.

I'm about to knock off a container of Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood cream. I enjoy using it as much as any shave soap I've used. With time, you may come to enjoy using shaving creams as well.

I hope you are doing well, my friend. All good here. We had a 94 F day today, and it looks like a repeat tomorrow. That would make @Trigger happy, but it's a little toasty for me.

Thank you Jeff. I learned to straight shave with my Dovo shavette and it just came naturally for me. I am sure if you did a thirty shave focus with one that you would be quite competent. You have many traditional straight shaves under your belt so it would not be that difficult for you to get there. Keep in mind that shavettes give great straight shaves without stropping and the maintenance. Sometimes, I just want to take a break from stropping. It's not a big deal, but I just want to get "straight" into the shave without dealing with it. Take care.

Last outing of the Dorco Prime Platinum which have been smooth and efficient throughout the week these are my Dorco blade that i have reacquainted myself to....A very smooth forgiving efficient blade my favourite from the Dorco camp that i have used to date.

Finishing my shaving week of with another maiden shave using the new HWF Lanolin Shaving Soap. (no.3) HWF lanolin with Lavender & May Chang like the other new formula was a delight to shave with. The zesty citrus scent from the May Chang is another great addition to this wonderful lanolin based soap...What more can i say, apart from i look forward to using all of the HWF lanolin shaving soaps again in future shaves.

Another enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing to the shave off with a small dollop of Cien Sensitive ASB.

I think you may have misunderstood my post, old friend! I do like shavettes, but only those using AC blades. I have PIF’d my Monsieur Charles. I only have 2 shavettes, my Tedalus and Feather DX both of which use AC blades, although the Tedalus can also use DE or Injector blades. :)
