    Gillette 109 adjustable @ 9
    Voskhod blade (fresh)
    Tabac shave soap
    Hembree Delrin brush
    Royal Copenhagen cologne

Awesome Tabac lather this morning. One cannot argue with the lather....good stuff.

First time using the 109 this morning. I reach for a Voskhod and man what a combo. This thang was smooth and sweet. I complete two quick passes and received very little feed back from the alum. A very nice shave indeed.

A little witch hazel and a few squirts of the Royal Copenhagen and this one was in the bag.

I'm back at work and I hope everyone has a great day.

I checked the pumpkin patch this morning. We are starting to get some little ones on the vines.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement, Charlie. The Simpson's will be ready for me next week, and I'll do the fingertip route. I'm doing fine thanks. Jury Duty is over-until 3 years from now, that is. I thought of you when I heard the subject of the trial-a man being negligent while operating a motorcycle. Course the judge didn't go into details about it-that's for the trial itself. You're a better rider than he is, Mr. "Tour De Kentucky".

Pre-War Tech, Vib'Raz/Feather (1). Because the Vib'Raz is so amenable to pressure it's a bit easier to maintain optimum contact than the Tech which is pickier about angle. Still, Tech is a pleasure to use and with the Feather pretty good even where the head stubble is most challenging.[IMG]

SOTD THURSDAY MORNING, AUGUST 12, 2021

Today’s shave featured my Dubl Duck Goldedge 11/16 (Mug) and my father’s Gillette Slim (Dome). Charles Bresnick founded Dubl Duck as a Beauty Products Company about 1930. (Razor brands Satinedge, Wondered & Goldedge). He imported his razors from Solingen where they were apparently subbed out to various manufacturers like Puma, Dovo etc.

One source claimed they were all manufactured in the old Dovo Works that were destroyed in the bombing during WW2. The company was later purchased in the early 50’s by a guy named Pearlson (Brand Pearlduck). Regardless of the confusing history, my Goldedge is a remarkable singing razor. It holds a great edge and delivered a very close smooth shave.

My father owned two Adjustables, the Gold Black Beauty, his regular razor, and this Gillette Slim which was his backup. While I’m not a fan of the TTO head design of either safety razor, it’s nice to shave with it and remember him, a retired Marine Gunnery Sgt., and a great father! He passed at 99 in 2013. Two ATG passes and I feel cool, clean and velveteen!

RAZOR: Dubl Duck Goldedge 11/16 (Mug), Gillette Slim Adjustable (Dome)
    BLADE: Suneko DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: JR Rosewood Silvertip Badger
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Chatillon Lux Pure Lavender.

Great shave, Dave, with an epic vintage razor! Hope you feel better. I spent the early morning cleaning up around our pool shed. SWMBO ended up calling my grandson, Kevin, who showed up after I was an hour into it and ushered me back into the house. He finished the job much more quickly than I would have! Oh to be 19 again! Enjoy your day and make sure that boss of yours doesn’t work you too hard! The aches and pains do not diminish as we accumulate more solar rotations! ;)
