Thanks, Bill! I hope you didn’t mind my reposting that pic! Wanted to let the Long Island Subchapter know that we Pennsyltucky men do it right! :D

It is all about value and preference for each shaver. I am glad you got a great deal on that Japanese razor because the asking prices are somewhat outrageous! Anyway, I salute you!

I saw the pic once before. When I first glanced at the pic, I thought Bill was smoking a cigar, but then I realized that he was not wearing a smoking jacket. Lol!

Yesterday a wonderful gift package showed up from the stifling heat of AL.

Danny @Hembree sent these my way.

The shavette is made for 1/2 DE blades and uses a holding mechanism similar to Artist Club type razors. I had half an unused Feather on hand and loaded it up. It takes a bit of fiddling, maybe due to the bend from snapping. I’ll find out when I move to the Facon branded blades. The package says they are Japanese blades, whatever that means, I’ve even used Personna industrial blades a couple of times.

I don’t have any Arko, so I used a Derby soap stick. I have 2 at least one will probably be here when I’m gone. The soap is more than adequate, even though I’m a total Stirling fanboy.

Normal shave pattern delivered the fine results I expect on new steel. The head shape is similar to a DX but shortened by the length difference of the blade types. Handles well on the shave. It is a nice low cost shavette. It will always be in my possession to remind me of a great generous friend. Thx Danny.

Finished up with the vintage splash that is over 30 years old. I have Et Tu from PAA that is supposed to be closer to vintage Brut than modern stuff, I agree.

    Fun shave.

Great pif from Danny. Like my GE Jones and other items that I have received from the generosity of others, they will be with me until I shed my earthly coil.

Hey, Bill! None of us look like we did in our 20s!
Besides, you’re drinking a cocktail perfected by yours truly over the course of about 60 or so yrs! I began learning how to mix them at around 12 for my father and his buddies! :)

You provided the the value judgement, “better”. I just observed that we all look different than we did in our 20s. ;) I prefer “ different”, Joe. :)

Awesome shave, Dave. Your comment about being 20 years old made me think of this Ray Stevens tune. Take care.

Thanks Charlie. I am better but work today was real aggravating. I'll survive but y'all MOLC have got it made.:)
