The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #423 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the TNNSER Razor by Tom with a Personna Super (75) Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Never in my life did I imagine that there would be a soap that could pass the Stirling Glacials in terms of menthol power but the day came. This is the hyper mentholated version of Citrus Melody which has something like a 30% menthol content in it as opposed to the original version which is still a pretty damned cold soap. This version has the same lovely citrusy scent, the lather works up perfectly now because I let it sit out uncovered for a month before starting to use it, the slickness is fabulous because it’s tallow based, the menthol sensation is crazy, but the postshave feeling is so soothing as well as comfortable. The Prep and the Citrus Melody aftershave were a most delightful finish, and the Pe Re Ja is a beautiful lemony scented cologne from Turkey. No way could I ask for a better shave!

RAZOR: Hoshi Tombo 8000 (Mug), Rex Ambassador (Dome)
BLADE: Sharp Star DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T-400 Tribute with 24mm Hybrid Ferrule
CREAM: Nancy Boy Sandalwood
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Nancy Boy Sandalwood AS Splash.

 

SE SOTD, Aug 13th 2021

Razor: Yaqi 50mm Excalibur, MFG 2021, Great tame mid range, you sure can zing around the face with a Kai Protouch blade.
Blade: Kai Protouch, excellent guarded blade, close shaves with it usually, Sharp & Smoooth with reasonable blade longevity. I toss at max of 8 or less seems to be # that works for myself.
Soap: Razorock Don Marco, nice citrus scents + great lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Boar brush, excellent lather generator, nice soft tips, nice scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Italian Barber Amici with witch Hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm with HA.
Results : CCA, DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Yaqi Excalibur + a Kai Protouch blade.

thank you Paul.i have downsized enough to having one of each of the different shaves they have.though they are all quite similar..passed on many as they were duplicates although in different cased sets.if i only kept my absolute favorites i would still have around a dozen..it's a fun hobby..
