Joe, you need a Feather Super for a fair comparison, not the Pro or Proguard. Trust me, I have compared it against Vic Creazzi’s razors, and it is every bit as close! :)

Mr. double - negative policeman made a grammatical mistake by choosing a instead of an before the proper noun Aventis. The article a should be before words that start with a consonant and the article an should be before words that start with a vowel. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Lol! I figured it was a typo Paul!

Thanks Joe. I am fine as long as I am hydrated. I worked out today and I just came back from lower Port Jefferson. I took a nice leisurely walk. I was surprised that it was not wall-to-wall people on the sidewalks. Years ago, the town was buzzing ona Friday night.

    Greetings,

    ( Arko week.)

A new shave set up to start the weekend...It's been a long time since i used my Ming Shi 2000s.

Following a weekly 'no guard' buzzcut with my Wahl hair clippers yesterday i decided to do another head shave this morning to reacquaint myself to the very efficient Ming Shi 2000s adjustable razor.
The Ming Shi 2000s razor alone has improved my shaving confidence and technique multitude I never thought in a million years I would use such an efficient razor for a head shave...practicing my technique has gave me the shaving confidence to do so...A very comfortable no-irritation/error-free silky smooth BBS face & head shave with no errors to report...Finishing to the shave off with a small dollop of Nivea Men Fresh Kick ASB.

My face & precious swede are feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

    Razor: Wade & Butcher DE
    Blade: WeCut Platinum (1)
    Brush: Sorrentino Orange Crush
    Soap: Haslinger Schafmilch
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Barbasol Pacific Rush
    Fragrance: CK ONE
    Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1011

So I have owned one of these Razors in years past and got rid of it as newer blades did not fit. Now with the experience I've had in adapting blades to fit these proprietary blade razors I got another one as I saw it as a real possibility in seeing some others success. I got a snip that would get in the narrow place I needed to cut out some of the blade without damage to it. This WeCut blade did well with the SNMIRN razor they came with so tried a fresh one for this attempt at cutting it to fit the square posts.
    IMG_20210814_055841167.jpg
Having done that I went forward with the shave. I found the blade was not as keen/sharp as others and it showed it's lack of ability in this razor. The razor is said to be an aggressive one and that it is. Maintain angle and you are good to go. A sharper blade would fair better especially on the ATG pass. I will try my go to Wizamets next time I use it. Got a great and close shave with extra work to make up for the blades reluctance to cut well. Topped with some Pacific Rush which is good juice but unavailable. Last 2 bottles for me. Had a swath of trees cut down by a crew at the end of our home so that they don't hit us in the event of a storm. They had gotten to the point that they all needed to be pulled the opposite direction they would naturally fall and I didn't have all the gear needed. The crew even had some difficulty with 5 guys. Pines are shallow rooted and prone to blow overs. I try to keep them down when tall enough to reach the dwelling. I cleared the back hillside 8 years ago but neglected the side. Now that that's done I can focus come winter and cooler weather to reclaim the back hillside of the new growth from the past 8 years before they get to tall to manage. Have a great weekend !

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, AUGUST 14, 2021

I was just about ready to give up on this straight razor! Everybody was raving about Rigarazor, yet I’ve never experienced the superlative shave everybody attributed to these razors. After yesterday’s incredible shave with the new Hoshi Tombo 8000, I decided to visit the incredible little 9 Ball Slate my friend, Glen Mercurio, clued me into, with the Rigarazor 7/8. I used the ILR barbers hone my son gifted me to build the slurry on the 9 Ball. From there I went to the 4 sided pasted constroption, and from there to 40 strokes on the Roo-skin bench strop. I'm a believer!

Unlike former mug shaves with this razor, today’s shave was glorious. Now I did use a different cream than yesterday, but if anything, I’ve found Castle Forbes to run a poor second to Nancy Boy. So this change certainly wouldn’t have improved the shave! In fact, the first pass led me to believe the razor wasn’t shaving, until I checked the incredible closeness I’d achieved WTG, just like the new-to-me Hoshi shave yesterday. Like yesterday, I could have quit after the second ATG pass, but like yesterday, I just love the process. The third XTG pass was unnecessary, but still felt great and left me dolphin smooth.

After the great mug shave, I was definitely in the mood for a comparable dome equivalent. So what better razor than my Leresche 77. This old girl has never let me down! The silver plated Leresche 77 was patented in 1935. The 77 is a 4 piece safety razor designed with a head slightly wider than the then contemporary razors, like the Barbasol Floating Head, allowing the shaving angle to be found more easily. The razor has a top cap with what look like shark jaws and weighs 70 grams. It was designed to lock the blade in tightly for a highly efficient shave. And boy did Madame Leresche deliver! So instead of the usual two ATG passes, I added a third unnecessary ATG pass. As Jackie Gleason used to say, “How sweet it is!” I’m cool, clean, velveteen and a confirmed 9 Ball believer!!

RAZOR: Rigarazor 7/8 (Mug), Leresche 77 (Noggin)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T-400 Tribute with 26mm Tuxedo Synth Ferrule
    CREAM: Castle Forbes Lime
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Royall Lyme AS/Cologne.

Fabulous W&B DE shave. You’re a much more patient man than me, Dave. After some success with the Segal, I was never able to craft the two outer holes properly on my W&B, and so sold it. Gibbs are much easier to adapt razor blades to. Congratulations on your limited success with this blade in the W&B. I wish you the best with your Wizamet adaptation. You’re a better man than me, Gumga Din! I have some tree issues myself to deal with as well. Unfortunately, for her, they involve Professor “I love coyotes” next door. Have a great day! :)
