I am thinking a simple black leather. The case is really rough. The crystal will polish up decent. Face has some staining on it. But if it keeps running all day. I will be a happy camper.
I will need to sync it to my phone and see how much time it gains or looses in 12 hours. I will do that once I get a band. Then wear it all day.

can’t tell you how many watches I look at at swap meets. Never find a runner for $5. It is an Elgin made in Germany. Mid 60’s I would guess.

2146 date code on the blade puts it made in the 16th week of 1925.

 

That has not been used in quite some time then. Low milage razor.

 

Well that is the date on the razor blade. I don't know what the date code / serial number is on the actual razor itself. Unless you know where to look in the book or online, if you give me that date code / serial number, I'll look it up for you.

Awesome! So now definitely looking forward to your review... Have you used a Gillette single ring before? Since you like to tinker, curious if you will use it as it was once marketed: an adjustable, by loosening the knob a bit.

 

I have. I had 1914 Bell end Aristocrat at one point. May fire it up tonight.

You know every Gillette up through the Sheraton was adjustable.

Yes sir! Although I find it a bit ridiculous because once you loosen the knob, it tends to keep loosening during the shave.

 

Old Type always held for me ok but Sheraton I don't think so

Thankfully, I get a fantastic, fine shave from my Senator without needing to loosen.

 

Though it has a manufacturing problem with the retaining spring clip being too short, it still holds a blade very securely.

Awesome shaving razor those!

 

Just delivered! My 1936 Gillette Aristocrat has on new rhodium clothes and has arrived back to me safe and sound today! Razor Emporium did a great job! Opens and closes smoothly, has that last little locking turn of the knob now, perfectly replated. Ready for a shave tonight!
