    Greetings,

(Wool Fat lanolin Based Shaving Soap Week.)

A new shave set up to start the weekend...Recently i have had been having some wonderful shaves with my wool fat lanolin based shaving soaps so for all my shaves this week i shall be using them....Starting off with MWF. I absolutely love this soap once I stopped trying to figured out how to get the best from it.... "Being on a over zealous quest to achieve perfection from any shaving soap or any shaving item as a matter of fact is pointless IMHO".. I have realised you just loaded it up with a damp brush, add water to the tips of the brush in between each pass and hey presto it creates an acceptable slick lather. Some shaving soaps and creams, however work better than others, but all create an acceptable lather with a little patience & effort.
I like the mild lavender/spicy scent of MWF which isn't an "overpowering in your face scent" like some other shaving soaps have. On a personal note a shaving soap fragrance isn't that important to me as once I've rinsed my face with water the fragrance has virtually disappeared...What is important is a shaving soap provides slickness glide, protection and a good post shave feel, MWF does all this and more.

A close comfortable 2 pass + pick ups shave with no errors to report...Finishing to the shave off with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd The Man EdT to the pulse points.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Nice writing on MWF. I have no idea why I’ve never tried it, but will be doing so in my future.

Real nice shave this morning. I realized right off the bat that the Stoylin soap didn't need a minute to load from. Two different loading periods(o:25 and 0:15). Good paint job all around the face&neck. The razor glided(glid???)across where I wanted it to go .Potential trouble along the jawline and sideburn area, but no redness developed. North Porcupine Alley checked out. So did the Southern persuasion(Porcupine)except for the jawline mishap. Nice work at Cactus Nation. Mennen Skin-Bracer to finish off the shave, then Pierre Cardin at the elbows and wrists. Super Duper Excellent.

It's a tough one to deal with(I put it almost in the Williams ballpark). The work pays off in the end, though.

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, AUGUST 21, 2021

Sorry to have been absent the last couple of days, but we’ve had company, and I haven’t had the opportunity to post my shaves! Today’s mug shave featured my favorite vintage razor, my Manhattan Cutlery 13/16 with its magnificent Sheffield blade. Three passes left my face glassine smooth. My Gem G-Bar, a sadly neglected dome cleaner delivered a comparable shave. I feel cool, clean and very velveteen!

RAZOR: Manhattan Cutlery 13/16 (Mug), Gem G-Bar
    BLADE: Pella SS PTSD Gem
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE LE Aluminum #005 w/ SynBad Knot
    CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Nancy Boy Signature Scent AS Balm.

It is another awesome shave in the books, Barry! I have hard water so the MWF would be difficult for me to make a nice lather. Enjoy your afternoon.

I still drop in and read/like posts . I'm basically unrecognisable with the hair and beard to people I havent seen in awhile. Felt very very strange having hair and beard at first but I'm over that now . I didnt forget you guys ;).
