SE SOTD, Aug20th, 2021 Razor: Yaqi 50mm Excalibur, MFG 2021> tame mid range, good daily driver, good entry point for AC blade razor. Head design is so small so care is needed in handling blades IMO. Enjoyable razor to use and it is carefree to wield around the face with a 50mm Kai Protouch blade. Blade: Kai Protouch(5) excellent blade, Sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity. Hard to cut yourself for best protection. Soap: Lavanda cream, nice very mild scent with great lather qualities. Brush: Yaqi 24mm 2band badger, mountain lake, excellent lather generator, pillow soft tips, nice scrub + great lather painter. Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area. Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. Post shave: Ach Brito Lavanda AS(lavender + woody nice scent) with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm. Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my Yaqi Excalibur with a Kai Protouch blade. Have some great shaves!

Sat 21st August Stirling Syn. 26mm MWF Occams Oren - 3dot plate Feather Proguard [ 4 ] Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion. I just don't comprehend why folks experience problems whipping up a lather with MWF. I just wet a brush and squeeze it out so it is in a dampened condition, seems to work with all soaps that I use. I do not think that I have had a bad Shave recently with MWF, and today was very pleasant and rewarding experience.
Saturday August 21, 2021 Razor: STAR Bar Lather Catcher Blade: Gem SS (8) Brush: STAR 704 Bone/TGN Badger Soap: Stirling Deton-8 AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70 AS 2: Stirling Deton-8 Fragrance: Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1018 I love all the Star razors I have but I have to say the Star Super Six and this one give the most amazing shaves. My 2 favorites for sure ! The restored brush shed 2 hairs 1st shave and a single the 2nd shave so it's a winner as well. Spicebomb scent from soap to aftershave to EDT and I'm ready for what the day brings me.........................as long as it's gentle Have a Stupid Fun Day and Weekend Everyone !
Wow, gents...these single edge and injector razors are just the coolest things. Don't get me wrong-I shave with a straight and just looking at them is impressive. But, the SE's and especially the injectors have a different "gestalt" about them: futuristic, optimistic, clever, etc. and maybe a little bit nerdy whether or not they are new or vintage. I would expect that a NASA engineer from the 60's would shave with an injector. Also, the photography is great.
Sunday August 22, 2021 Razor: Gem Junior Blade: Gem SS (9) Brush: Knothead Zebrawood Soap: Honeybee Cucumber Melon AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70 AS 2: Proraso Green Splash Fragrance: n/a Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1019 Great shave. Blade at 9 shaves is needing more strokes I think but still giving smooth, close and irritation free shaves. The soap I'm calling done as it is not doing it for me quality wise and is near gone anyway. I wish I had this scent in a quality soap. Moving on to CFG Sherlock that survived the recent soap reduction sale as a complete set with splash and EDT to match. Enjoy your Sunday, it's back to the grind tomorrow !
Sun 22nd August The Grosvenor / 404-boar Vitos Super Red Occams Oren - 3dot plate Feather Proguard [ 5 ] Tuff Green A/S Lotion Rather spoilt myself today by continuing to use The Oren, as it delivers so effortlessly really Top Notch Shaves. Rather glad I got hold of one of these which along with the rest of the Occams appears to have disappeared from the market.
Lather Catcher Sunday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Palmolive Shave Cream Jayaruh #424 Synthetic Superior Lather Catcher Personna GEM SS PTFE CWR Lustray Spice After Shave I had an interesting shave today. At about 2:30 this morning I was aroused from sleep by an incredibly loud noise from the toilet when SWMBO flushed it. On investigation, the water coming from the toilet, faucets and all was mud brown. I called the water department and they confirmed that we were on a Water Advisory/Boil Water Alert since 9:30 the previous evening. We just did not get the notification. So this morning, I did my shave with 16.9 fl. oz. of bottled drinking water. The Palmolive Shave Cream lathered well with Jayaruh #424 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Superior Lather Catcher Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Fantastic! A beautiful razor! And did it all with only 16.9 fl. oz. of bottled water! You win the SoD!

Today was a quick shave before church razor: Valet Auto Strop Model"C" blade: Feather carbon steel single edge (stropped and now on 12th shave) brush: Semogue 1305 soap : Fine Accouterments Italian Citrus aftershave:Fine Accouterments Italian Citrus (decanted into old Seaforth! bottle) talc: NOS Seaforth! Men's Talc I have been using the carbon steel blade and using the auto strop feature. It is working surprisingly well. It has settled down to something that feels like the Feather SS blade by about the second or third shave. (cross posted from August SOS of the month)
Mon 23rd August Jayaruh Syn. No67 Ach Brito Mogno Yaqi Raster V2 - Ikon handle Kai CT Protouch MG [ 6 ] Alcolado Glacial A/S Splash Now have 29 shaves under my belt with this Razor , but used it with Kai Pink / Guarded blades only. I use it with a conventional Razor handle, and find it to be very manoeuvrable and so far have had good Shaves with it. Today was good but I think that I should perhaps try it out with other blades, before establishing it in my AC/SE Razor hierarchy.
