It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your friends! Thanks for your prayers, Jeff! It is working because it has not been as bad as predicted. I just went to my local 7-11 and everything was fine. Yes, we have had rain, but not any downpours. Right now, it is not raining, but you can feel sporadic, tiny drops. There was not much wind. I believe the worst is behind us. I did not lose any power, so that is definitely a relief. Again, thanks for the prayers.

Awesome shaves Jeff! Glad you piqued Paul's interest in straight shaving. I guess he did not cut himself as you mentored him through it. Jolly good show!

Fantastic shave Joe! Yes, Henri decided to make a very short visit on the East End of Long Island to vist New England. I am quite glad that he changed his mind to have New England as his main destination. Pray that he gets tired so that they won't experience too much damage.

To qualify for this month's theme, I "adjusted" when I shave---to about 2:30pm.
B&M very early formula, hands-down, my favorite Bay Rum shave soap.
The Rover picked up plenty of goo to provide a slick and protective barrier twixt
    blade 'n blood
    for 3 passes.
Good results under the chin, more specifically, lower neck/both sides.
Cleaned up in the usual manner and finished with another of the
best Bay R(h)ums ever to be offered:

IMO, the epitome of how Bay Rum should smell.

Nice shave, Jeff! How does the BBS compare to the Leresche 77? Just curious!

Thanks, Joe! He’s got my Genco 35 with the option to keep it if he wishes or to send it back! But he did say he got a very good shave! I pointed him to Lynn Abrams’s videos. We may have a new member! My sister has a cottage on the cliff at Wading River that she’s quite concerned about! She lost half her front yard during Sandy!

I decided to do an above-the shoulder shave since I have plenty of time due to the cancellation of services this evening. The boar brush did a great job lathering this soap for my face and headshave. As an aside,
I have noticed that as soon as I get to the bottom of a soap puck that the scent is not as strong. I guess that would make sense because I do not have much of it and keeping it open to dry would facilitate the dissipation of the scent.
Anyway, I always complete my face shave first and then move on to my dome. Afterwards, I apply the witch hazel, the alum and the aftershave all in one shot. I only needed 2 passes on the face and 3 on the dome to get BBS all around without any mishaps. I also realized that I do not have to be on full throttle to get a great shave with this Fatboy. Keeping it on setting seven was a real epiphany. However, I will set it on 9, every now and then, especially if I have at least 2 days growth. Take care.

That's an insightful question. I don't trust my shave memory that much but I'd say the BBS has a narrower sweet spot but efficiency is comparable. I just ordered the AS plate for the BBS.

Thanks, Jeff! I’d considered the BBS, but will take a pass on it! I’m very happy with the shave delivered by the 77! :happy088:
