With 35 Celsius heat I need all the menthol goodness I could get and this setup provided it for me. The Citrus Melody soap’s gorgeous scent, its thick, rich, super slick tallow based lather buried my face, the menthol sensation was icy cold, and the postshave feeling was perfect. The Prep gave me such A1 additional care, and the Citrus Melody aftershave froze me right to the bone - when I got out of the bathroom my eyes were almost closed because of the menthol fumes. What a cracking good BBS shave this was!

This is my second shave in a row using the Merkur 34C HD. It's a fantastic razor and easy to see why it's often referred to as a workhorse. That said I find the razor a bit too aggressive shaving against the grain on my throat. Tomorrow its back to the Gillette 195!

 

DE SOTD, Aug 25th, 2021

Razor: Razorock 2nd Gen Lupo.72, Excellent mid range, best DE design in my large collection, carefree shave, daily shaver for some folks.
Blade: Derby Premium(4),great blade, sharp & smooth with reasonably longevity, best Derby blade IMO.
Soap: Razorock Irish Countryside, mild scent, excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Atlantis 24mm synthetic, Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, great scrubber, nice lather painter, kind of almost mocks a 2band badger in feel since using badgers. Atlantis does not exactly feel like my 2 band badgers but getting closer.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Witch hazel + Nivea refreshing AS + a dollop of Nivea balm with HA.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my RR Lupo.72 with a Derby Premium blade.

Brush: Yaqi 24mm Sagrada Familia Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather : HWF Lanolin Original Shaving Soap with Cedarwood & Patchouli Essential Oils.
Blade: Mers SuperShave X Platinum. (D2)
Razor: Merkur 34c.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezings, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils. + 3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Pashana Original ASL./Nivea Men Sensitive Cooling PSB.

Early morning shave,

Another wonderful performance from the Merkur 34c /SuperShave X Platinum duo which have paired together wonderfully with each shave.
The HWF Lanolin shaving soap i bought from ebay as a blind buy birthday present to myself last year which turned out to be a magnificent shaving soap. Since the success of the HWF lanolin cedarwood & patchouli original formula the two new formula's that Ratna or should i say Dr.R. Tantra has created are superb.

A Enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing to the shave off with a small dollop of Nivea Men Sensitive Cooling PSB.

My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine.

Williams Wednesday on Thursday !! Man I LOVE this razor and been too long since using. After the shave the JUNK Shave Forge Boar knot was pulled out of the Williams brush before setting it on the counter. Gave it more than a fair chance and I'm done with it. Pure JUNK. Great shave other than that and hope all have a great sweltering Thursday as I will !
