So after the seller waited 5 days to actually mail these, they arrived today: Birth year and quarter (T-4 1973) NOS sealed Gillette aluminum Tech... 1941-1949 GEM MicroMatic Clog Pruf SE razor with fantastic condition gold plating, case, razor bank, instructions and tag... This is the gold Clog Pruf with 17 teeth. The nickel Clog Pruf has only 12 teeth. And it is in such fantastic condition, I'm not even going to fuss in feedback for the seller waiting 5 days before finally putting it in the mail... lol
Very nice Jody. I have that same clog pruf in reserve. I have the hang tag, but not the instructions. Do you have the blades to go with the holder? The only difference that I can see is that my case is more brown as yours looks to have the reddish hue.
Why is it that the razors of yesteryear are so much cooler and nicer than modern razors? The GEMs , Auto strops, etc are fantastic!
Thanks! And your 1906 SR is awesome too! Even with the plating and such... That's how a 115 year old razor should be! Well used and well loved! Unfortunately it did not come with the blades. The razor is in such great condition, I think whomever received it originally, only used it long enough to go through the sample blades that came with it. It actually came with two of the same instruction sheets, folded up and placed inside the blade bank, which I found odd. I'll get it off into the mail headed your way soon!
Okay, thanks. I just had a look at the second set of instructions and when I folded them open one time, I noticed the pages coming apart a bit at the fold seams. I didn't unfold it anymore so as not to risk totally tearing them apart. I'm still going to send it to you but not sure if it's worth a trade for blades... lol
Honestly, you don't need to send it my way. Im not a collector and this is just a very nice back up if my primary stops working. Longer ago than I can remember, I picked up two matching clog prufs for maybe $10. My user now looks about the same as Jeff's (crackstar) super speed.
