I see a few posts about the razors called the leaf and twig. I'm always interested in different types of razors and am willing to pay more than seems sensible for a good razor. I am suspicious of the "BEST EVER" pronouncements, been bitten by that once or twice. I don't have time to really search around here and the rest of the web. Does anyone have one? What's your opinion on these tools? I'll go for it if it is a real thing that works. But gimmicky things that are just that, a gimmick. I'm not in favor of spending that kind of money on. Well unless it may just fizzle out and I'll have another unique razor. But that's a different thing altogether.
I'm in the same boat as you on this one Terry. Been curious but not pulled the trigger..... watching for responses
I have both the 3 blade Leaf and the Twig Thorn. The loading mechanism on the Twig may be a little gimmicky but I get great shaves from both. Both have permanent status in my bullpen of super efficient and comfortable SE razors I turn to for clean up on my head shaves. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
Guess that's what happens when you step away for a couple of years; you find yourself living under a rock. Never heard of either razor until this post. Oh, well. I'm happy with what I have.
I don't have any first hand experience with either, but I would give them a pass. I have plenty of DE razors to use my blades on hand and they dont require snapping a blade in half. A big part of like of the SE razors is the thicker stiffer blade which you wouldn't get with the half DE. It may shave well and if you like it, go for it. Everyone needs something to get through the day, but I don't have any real interest in either of these razors.
For those unaware, the benefit of the Leaf is that it uses three blades. That makes it at least as efficient as any of my SE razors with thicker blades. It's a one pass head shave As for the Thorn, its primary appeal is nimbleness. It's also efficient and comfortable. Half DE blades are rigid enough, the slot in modern DE blades makes them less inherently rigid than half blades (indeed that was part of the idea of going to slots , which was to reduce stress on the blades). Doesn't mean YOU need one. I wouldn't recommend the Leaf if you're not a head shaver unless you have a beard and just need a quick pass on cheeks and neck. The Thorn is the opposite . If you wear a beard you probably don't need nimble. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
Welp, after seeing them, desire for one is zero. Guess I didn't miss anything during my time under the rock.
So the Twig or the Leaf first??? I have a goatee and I'm a head shaver. I also like to shave with different tools just to keep from getting board of it all. So after my 200 Feather super pro and 200 Schick B-20 blades get here and are paid off..... I see the blade prices are going up fast and I use them up quickly. But being that the only thing I hate more than shaving is a full beard. I'm trying to stock up on my essentials. Next software, unless a twig or leaf ends up here. Thanks tp
@jmudrick Sorry. After reading my post, I guess it did sound a bit snarky. Didn't mean to come across that way, just saying not my cup of tea. I'll always stand by, "It's your shave. Enjoy it your way." My apologies if I offended in any way.
I think the OP was seeking feedback from folks who had experience with the razors rather than people who never heard of them that's all. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
There's also the Twig vs Twig Thorn , the Thorn being the more aggressive. You sound like a good candidate for the Leaf to me. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
I value Everyone's opinion. Thanks for chiming in all. I really thought, " hey he came out from under his rock,,,, thats great!". If your offended by an honest reply. Maybe your not drinking enough joy juice. Have a couple doubles, relax, then have a couple more. If you haven't noticed I end my razor experiences with "enjoy". I mean that. Thanks tp
