This is a setup which only a hard core menthol fanatic like myself can tolerate because it’s so intense. The mentholated pre shave soap is quite cold, it does a great job of cleaning the skin, softening up the beard stubble, and it gives great moisturizing. The Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo soap smells absolutely gorgeous - it’s got the same scent as Sharp Dressed Man from Stirling, the lather works up so rich, the slickness is fabulous, the menthol sensation is killer cold, and the skincare is perfect. The Glacial Unscented balm is unbelievable and unbeatable for postshave care, not to mention how beautiful the Arctique aftershave smells yet it doesn’t clash with the Bleu de Chanel, and the freeze it gives is off the charts. Another A1 BBS shave that I enjoyed so much!

My face will need practically all day to thaw out after using this setup - the Glacial Spearmint soap packs a lethal menthol punch, the scent is so beautiful and it fills the bathroom, the lather is so rich, slick, as well as protective, and the postshave feeling is awesome. The matching balm gives the same scent, it’s so moisturizing, soothing, and frigid, and Fernando’s Frosted Spearmint aftershave smells exactly like the Glacial Spearmint not to mention how bone chillingly cold it is and how good the skincare is. This shave was a three pass BBS work of art!

Rod’s new Glacial soaps are da BOMB! (da menthol bomb that is! Hell, the Glacial Citron soap smells so beautiful - lemon, lime, tangerine, and grapefruit all come together to give this soap an awesome scent, you can’t ask for better, slicker lather, the menthol sensation is off the charts, and the postshave feeling is great. The Prep and the Glacial Citron aftershave were a terrific finish. What a terrific BBS shave this was!

It’ll probably take all day for my face to thaw out after this intense menthol bombardment - even the Stirling mentholated pre shave soap felt pretty chilly. The Glacial Strawberry Lemonade soap lathered like a champ with my gorgeous Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole synthetic, the scent is magnificent - the strawberry notes definitely dominate the scent - in fact I can hardly notice any lemony notes, the menthol sensation is killer cold, and the skincare is perfect. The Glacial Unscented balm delivered wonderful moisturizing and soothing, while the Glacial Strawberry Lemonade aftershave froze my face to smithereens and it smells exactly like the soap - so lovely. Three passes left me smoother than silk!

The Tea Tree Body Bar is a slightly mentholated body/shave soap. I got it as a gift from my son. It's not the best shave soap, but it will do. The soap lathered OK with SlimGem Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the GEM Damaskeene with a Personna GEM SS PTFE gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Hopefully the Glacial Wintergreen line will be back next year because Rod discontinued it for now and I regret not buying a bunch of it. The soap has such a beautiful wintergreen scent, the lather is such a pleasure to work up - it’s so rich as well as super slick, the menthol sensation feels like liquid nitrogen on your face, and the skincare is A1. The matching balm and witch hazel have that same scent along with the same bone chilling freeze. Another tip top BBS shave that I enjoyed so much!

Once again I wanted to show Jaco’s soaps some more love so I selected the Kameelperd for today and I’m really happy that I did. The beautiful coffee/peppermint scent filled the bathroom, the lather was so thick, rich, and slick, the menthol sensation was killer cold like a Stirling Glacial soap, and the postshave feeling was so comfortable. The Prep and the Snake Bite aftershave completed the job superbly. The Minora blade is now starting to dull out quite a bit but it still helped me get a perfect three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed so much!

It’s been a long time since I last used the Lush Life so I pulled it out this morning and I’m really happy that I did. The scent is so nice, it lathers so thick and rich, there’s a fair amount of menthol in it, and the postshave feeling is excellent. I know it’s not a tallow based soap so my guess is that it’s vegan. The Prep gave me lots of additional care, and the Alt Innsbruck went on icy cold along with its classy old school European scent that I love so much. Another brilliant BBS shave!
