That is the teacher in me, Paul! To really be consistent, a shaver has to have a plan of action before the shave. Map the beard, use soaps that do not irritate the skin, type of razor, blade, the order and number of passes, alcohol or non-alcohol aftershave, strong or mild scent , etc.

As you know, being on autopilot is great, but sometimes it backfires. Lol! Fortunately, the nick really was a non-issue. I am glad that I do not slice my face or you guys would be calling me Scarface.

This represents my fave no worries, economy shave setup.

Jeffrey Smith was the first person I saw review this shaver and I ordered one soon after.

Gillette Silver Blue is my 1/2 DE of choice for shavettes. Even though they are premium pricing in that class, taking them the normal 5 great shaves I get makes them a bargain.

Recessed and solid clamping mechanism with corner guards make the Focus R21 Evolution a great option for anyone stepping towards this type of gear.

This mug is where I dump shave soaps of all sorts. Quick and easy.

Aqua Velva always maketme think of my Dad.

    Great Shave.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave.

The Haslinger Aloe Vera is another great performing nice mild fragranced shaving soap which my mature skin loves and creates an acceptable lather in a short space of time which doesn't dissipate or dry out on your face in between passes leaving a superb post shave feel.

A Enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Superdrug Forest Fresh ASL.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

SOTD TUESDAY MORNING, AUGUST 31, 2021

To switch things up this morning, I began my dome shave first for a change of pace! Closing out adjustable August with my favorite early adjustable, the Eclipse Red Ring seemed the thing to do. Loaded with a palm-stropped Feather and adjusted wide open for great blade feel, there's nothing quite like the dome shave it delivers. This razor and the Rex Ambassador both wide open deliver the best adjustable dome shaves for me, and this morning’s example was nothing to sneeze at. Two ATG passes left yours truly very smooth.

This morning’s mug shave featured my second razor purchase from Victor Creazzi, the “Blue Shorty”. Victor’s razors arrive amazingly sharp, as I learned to my chagrin with my first shave with this little beauty when it arrived a few months ago. I usually blunt the tip of all my square toed razors, but didn’t think to do so in my excitement to have a first shave with it. The little quarter inch racing stripe it left as I began my first pass reminded me that I’d forgotten! Two strokes on the end of my drinking glass and my Proraso nick stick quickly took care of that initial problem, allowing me to return to what I've come to call the Creazzi shave experience. Three passes this morning easily put the baby to bed leaving your happy narrator cool, clean and oh-so-smooth!

RAZOR: Victor Creazzi “Blue Shorty” 7/8 (Mug), Eclipse Red Ring (Noggin)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T-400 Tribute with 24mm Hybrid Knot Ferrule
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. finished with Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm.

Well, what a difference a shave makes! 24 hours after going "rather excellent"(passable), I did much better at the areas I missed yesterday. I might have moistened the brush better, but that wasn't a major issue. Clean and fresh shave all over. 2 passes. No Knicks/cuts. I changed razor directions more down at Cactus Nation than up at Porcupine Alley and the cheeks/sideburn areas. Much better . You say how much? I opened up a new AV for the aftershave.. Outta This World Excellent.

Vib'Raz/Astra SS for the beard, Shake Sharp/Derby Premium ² noggin, perfect combo. Vib'Raz is easier ATG on the chin if not quite as efficient. Used the boar brush with the charcoal soap pre, Semogue badger with the MDC, my oil post. [IMG]

    Razorock P160 shave soap
    Royal Copenhagen cologne

The T3 whipped up some amazing lather this morning. I really like the P160 and it is a great value.

I enjoyed the Gamechanger so much yesterday I decided to give it a go again this morning. Two very nice passes and this one was in the bag.

It's raining in Bama today. It looks like we are just going to get rain off of the hurricane . I'm thankful we are not getting any high winds.

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday and where has this month gone.

Awesome shave, Paul! Way to go! Not to be a stick in the mud, but instead of rating your shaves, just enjoy them! I found that when I got away from BBS, DFS etc. that my shaves started becoming much more enjoyable! The rating process doesn’t allow one to be wholly in the moment and just enjoy the shave, because there’s that little assessment part of us that interferes! You're going to do what you’re going to do. Just thought I'd share my close to 75 solar rotations worth of learnings with you! We MOLC guys spend a lot of time reflecting! Hope I haven’t overstepped! :)
