Ok, @Dave in KY ….sounds like a plan for a Friday evening. And yeah, I know, too much ice in that one. Don’t use quite so much now.

Wasn’t really ever a bourbon or whisky person, but several enablers over on the 30DC during the holidays….along with a trip to the store for wifey, and this came home too. The shot glass was a birthday gift.

4 Roses Single Barrel is a GREAT choice and always loved that glass of yours :happy088:

This one was really good a bargain for $65, took 2 bottles at once because of limited number of bottles of 3200 to Sweden

My husband received a very nice gift from his oldest friend, this week. His pal Tommy sent him a bottle of Old Forrester Bourbon. They then scheduled a Zoom chat (we are in NY and his friend is in California) and raised a toast together. I tried a bit of the bourbon too. Very complex taste with strong notes of pepper & caramel.

Might want to avoid the bourbon before going out to the range. :)

    Definitely. Arrows first; bourbon later.

Templeton Rye is nice in a Manhattan.

My small city rural Canadian liquor store gets in the odd case of different bourbons quite frequently (way more Canadian Ryes, obviously) and I got a bottle of Old Forrester recently as well. A bottle of Basil Hayden’s at the same time, too, as I can’t remember seeing either around here before. The Old Forrester is quite flavourful…the Hayden’s is very smooth, more like a high end Canadian Whisky- less flavourful than other bourbons in the same range, imho.

I’m just the opposite. I’ve tried hard to like Old Forester and for whatever reason, I get a metallic taste from it. Now Basil Hayden, mmmmmmm……..one of my favorites! Amazing how we all have different tastes. Drink up my friend! :eatdrink047:

Since I don't go to bars anymore, and don't feel the need to make it seem like I know what I'm doing, I'm satisfied with Cutty Sark for the occasional drink at home.
There's really nothing "wrong" with it.

I was in Pigeon Forge last month, and picked up 4 bottles of Cyclone Jim for a friend, at the Old Forge Distillery. He swears it is some of the best he has had. It better be, for the price.
