    Greetings,

    Face & Head Shave.

A new shave set up to start the weekend.....Starting my SEptember with the Ever Ready 1912 (US) which was my first introduction to the wonderful world of vintage Ever Ready SE razors...Throughout the month i intend to add a mixture of SE & DE razors to my SOTD set ups.

All of my Ever Ready vintage SE razors are a pleasure to shave with, once you've adjusted to the required shaving angle training your mind to use good shaving technique these vintage ladies will reward you with some sublime shaves...The solid design of these razors & the thickness of the Gem PTFE blade give them great rigidity keeping blade chatter under control which is wonderful especially for head shaving.

A enjoyable close comfortable BBS face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a few small squirts of Blue Stratos EdT to the pulse points....My face and precious swede are both feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

  11. Just a wonderful shave and summary as usual, Barry! I do agree that there’s nothing like a great noggin and mug shave.

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 4, 2021

This morning’s shave featured my Hoshi Tombo 8000 [HT8] (Mug) and my Colonial Silversmith (Dome). The mug shave went well with my usual relaxed three passes. The HT8 is a wonderful shaver and reduced the mug whiskers down to a state of divine smoothness. This little razor works beautifully on the recalcitrant neck whiskers that swirl in every direction on either side of my Adam’s Apple. It is a highly maneuverable little razor that is a joy to shave with. The Colonial Silversmith and my Karve are my two favorite modern artisan DEs. I’ve owned the Tradere, the Timeless, H&S #75, and the Blackbird, all of which I’ve sold. It’s these two that deliver the best dome shave for me. And this morning’s two pass ATG Silversmith noggin shave checked all the boxes. I feel smooth, cool, clean and velveteen!

RAZOR: Hoshi Tombo 8000 (Mug), Colonial Silversmith (Noggin)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Osage Rub.

  13. Thank you Jeff. The smallest blade I have is a 5/8ths. Do you have two sisters on LI? One in Manirville as well?

  16. Just one sister in Manorville who owns a cottage in Wading River. I’m becoming a fan of 4/8 Swedish blades. My new-to-me Klas Tornblom was a devil to hone (70 Rockwell Hardness Sandvik steel), but it now has an amazingly sharp edge easily equivalent to a Feather Super.

  17. Superb shave Barry. The 1912 is a great razor. I truly enjoy the result I obtain whenever I use mine.
  18. Excellent shave Jeff. When you refer to “this little razor” what size is it?
