  1. I finished off the Clubman trifecta(Shaving Cream, and AS....and for good measure, the shampoo in the shower). But by trifecta, I mean 3 days in a row with this combo. The shamp;oo is getting quite low-will order another soon. The shaving cream squiggled out of the can like a white snake. If it wasn't shaving cream, it would be just that(a white snake). Our Chemistry friend from Long Island(@Trigger)explained why that happens, and it makes sense. The older the cream&can, the more it squiggles out.But it's great once it enters your face and neck. Course then it's up to you, the shaver. Nice job overall, though I did skip over the sideburn area(left side). Actually, I just fixed that area with just hot water and the razor. No cuts/Knicks. One pass. That Clubman A.S. just won't go away! I guess that's a good thing on the budget persuasion of things-you want to use it ALL-but at the same time you get a little anxious and ready to get going with the larger bottle you have(12.5 oz). Happy with today's shave...now onto some soaps.

    Good morning guys!

    Traditional Straight Shave #300
Open Blade Shave #600 (300 shavette plus 300 straight)
    10/8 Max Sprecher (53)
    Catie's Bubbles Tuxedo Brush
Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's WH
    Whiskers: 37 hrs

With this significant shaving milestone, I decided to bring out one of my best setups. I just love Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender because it produces a rich, creamy, slick and quick lather. The brush is soft with backbone, but it produces a mean lather everytime.
This is my 53rd shave with Max and fittingly, I have to say this was my best shave with it. BBS shave was obtained with 2.5 passes without cuts or irritation. My first pass was WTG and second pass was ATG. The final half pass was to clean up the jaw line and neck. However on the last 1/2 pass, I decided to go lower on my neck and to a nice Gillette slide to get the stubborn srragglers. I also want to mention that I am getting better shaves with more hydration so that the lathers are thinner, but oh so slick! The alum's feedback was only noticeable on my lower left neck. I am not surprised because I hardly shave that area. Witch hazel and then the matching aftershave followed. I was disappointed the last time that I used this aftershave. I decided to vigorously shake the bottle and the scent strength and the notes were more pronounced. My only negative is that the scent does not linger. Anyway, I only need 400 open blade shaves to hit the 1000 mark and that should be arriving in late 2023. Have an awesome day guys!
  3. Great shave and thanks for the acknowledgement, Paul! Enjoy your day!

Second shave of the 30 day focus. I think I have been stretching just a touch too much for this razor. I dialed it back a little and had no nicks on the chin, but unfortunately my concentration lapsed for just a smidge and i got myself under the nose on pass two. The end result is super close mostly bbs shave with a minor bit of irritation and a tiny nick which didnt even bleed under the nose.
  5. And you do the same on the Island, Joe :).
