And I've always wanted to try one just to see if it can be done . Or at least use the blade out of one. Never know what the future might bring eh!

I’m posting about 13 hours post shave. It was the third day after previously shaving with my favorite Tech. Thinking back to my first SE shave this month (MMOC), today’s was smoother and more comfortable. My experience with and expectations of GEM and injector blades were confirmed, but SEptember is barely underway, so I’m giving myself the permission to change/modify my opinions over time.

My most notable impression so far (beyond smoothness/comfort) between the two formats is that the Type I made it much easier to get a straight line at the bottom of my sideburns compared to the open comb Micromatic. As was always my anecdotal impression, I find it easier to wield injectors than their clunkier SE counterparts.

Next shave I’m back to a DE, and then it’s on to my Type G injector.

My September focus(that is, along with trying to use more Stoylin)is to somehow reach a satisfactory balance of water on the brush and soap to be loaded ONTO it. I think less water/more soap is the answer. I need to do a better job of squeezing out water from the brush AND shaking more off. But leave a little on, of course.

Happy Labor Day gentlemen. This my first Labor Day as a member of the MOLC. Forty-one years of service in the education field, Labor Day here in the Northeast signals the start of another school year as well as honoring our work force.

Today’s shave featured my 1508.5 Project as a mean to further enhance the pace of my reduction of soaps in the den. I have been on a NB since June of 2020. I probably have enough soap to last about four to five years. I am not sure if I will keep the NB for that length of time. The goal is to finish 5 tubs this year. I am working on number 4 which is projected to be finished by mid to late October.

I had a great three pass shave with the MMOC, with a blade on it’s 11th shave. I received a super close shave but I will Bon the blade.
The missus enjoys the Obsession scent, so an added bonus of starting of the day on the right foot.

I hope you all enjoy your holiday gentlemen.

    September 6

Good morning and Happy Labor (Labour) Day, gentlemen.

I've continued using my Gillette NEW SC (thanks again @jtspartan) for the past two or three months. I intend to change razors eventually, but I love using it. I'm using my @MrEE 30DC LE handle with an Omega boar knot and rotating between a trio of soaps: Tabac, Stirling, and MdC. Blades have been either Feather or GSB, averaging 4 or 5 shaves each.

Most days, I perform one pass - WTG on my face and ATG on my neck - and touch-ups on my chin, around my mouth, and along my jaw line. If I take time to enjoy my lather and stretch my skin well, this gets the job done. I finish up with alum, witch hazel, USB, a splash of Alt-Innsbruck, and a couple of shots of Aramis. My shaves are close, comfortable, presentable, enjoyable, and mostly boo-boo free. And I can't remember the last time I was tormented by flying insects. ;)

I've thinned my soap and aftershave rotation down to what I enjoy using. I'm set on everything I want and need for the foreseeable future, and I'm just enjoying my shaves. I can eventually see using up all my aftershaves and expanding my cologne rotation thanks to @Primotenore's influence.

A big shout out and my sincere thanks to @Hembree for the wonderful Delrin brush handle and @Dave in KY for the Aristocrat. Danny's handle will make a great addition to my travel kit, and the Aristocrat is a stunner. I may bust that out one out to replace the SC soon.

Remember, @Paul Turner, you have to put away your white summer pants after Labor Day. :D

I hope you all are healthy and well. I'll pop in occasionally as long as you'll have me. Grace and Peace. :)

Hello all and I hope everyone in the states is enjoying their Labor Day, and the rest of the world...hope you are all fine.
As the sign says...we need a new Grand Poobah iu.png to get the 30DC thread started beginning in October. So...

I appreciate the support I had whilst steering this vessel, but this is my port o' call and I am going ashore.
I'll poke my head in and offer an occasional "enable"; post my shaves and kibitz with the Hoi Polloi. ;)
