As I said, these days I’m using creams and soaps which I’ve been neglecting for a very long time - this Hamol is an absolutely delightful cream. It’s from Syria, I know it was used in a lot of barbershops over there before the fighting started, and it was very cheap. The scent to me is a lot like the North American Williams soap, just a small dab on both cheeks is enough to produce fantastic lather, there’s a mild menthol sensation, and the postshave feeling is awesome. The Prep and the Polar Ice aftershave made me feel like I stepped out of a 1960s or 1970s barbershop. Another A1 BBS shave!

Interesting shaving cream. I have never heard of it. I had to look up what hamamelis is - the scientific name for witch hazel plants. And I thought all this time, witch hazel was some artificial man-made concoction. Learned something new from your SoD!

Why did Rod feel the need to reformulate it???

Razor: Everready Streamline 2nd generation- MFG 1949-53, great upper mid range IMO, nice eye candy, built to last, solid brass head & good audio feed back, hard razor to master IMO.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(8) excellent blade, Very sharp with great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Lavanda cream- mild scented cream with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Atlantis 24mm, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice scrubber + great painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: witch hazel + Lavanda with WH + a dollop of CeraVe skin moisturiser.(no fragrance)
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my ER streamliner 2nd Gen + coated Gem Blade.
