For this morning's shave, I made a couple changes: prep-Dial 4 Men Bodywash(Ultimate Clean)in shower shave-Rocky Mtn. Barber Co. Shave Cream In A Puck(Barbershop) brush-Stoylin "li'l brudder" razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot + DisposeABLE A.S.-Stephan Bay Rum Fragrance-Mutamayez-(House of Swiss Arabian) Yesterday, I tried an experiment with the Rocky Mtn....scooping it into my hand to do it the way I'd do Gillette Foamy and other cans. I quickly decided that wasn't a good idea, as the cream stuck to my hands. It's tough doing it that way off a tub. Back to the brush I went, and did so today for both passes. As I wrote some time ago, my next Rocky Mtn. will be a shaveSOAP. They do have a couple-you just have to "read the fineprint"to make sure it's the soap you're getting. Anyway, today's shave-very good, minus a miss on the right sideburns. I safely went soft and slow over yesterday's cuts(0ne of which was kinda bloody, but the cold rinse and and Clubman A.S. came to my rescue). The Stephan was a great set-up man for the Mutamayez fragrance closer(elbows&wrists).
Thank you Joe....Mutamayez is my favorite cologne.. Naturally, I didn't "read the fine print" on the Rocky Mtn. product(wanted a shaveSOAP, not shave CREAM).
Shavette Shave # 138 Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: Razor Retro Shavette Blade: Kai Captain Pro Titan Pro Touch MG Brush: Ever Ready 200T Lather: Ginger's Garden Obsession Type (1508.5 Project) Aftershave: Obsession A/S Balm Additional Care: Stirling Alum Block Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original Final travel shave this morning. The Kai Captain Pro Titan delivered a super close shave. SWMBO is enjoying the Obsession scent shave as she is a fan of the balm and EdT. My Ever Ready 200T, my Father’s shave brush which has been in my possession for over 40 years and refurbished in 2017, whipped up a nice lather. It is by far the brush I have used the most. I tend to take it on my travels several times a year. Hope you all have a great day.
SEptember 9th RR V3 OC Hawk w Feather Pro APShave SynBad/Poculi Stirling Autumn Glory combo Thayers Moved on from the superb Supply to the V3 Hawk early this morning, inspired by @PanChango 's focus. Went with the Autumn Glory, which I've stated before is, IMHO, one of Rod's best original concoctions. 3 drama free passes ensued. I have not used Prolines in this razor, as I have them only in Injector size. The Feather Pros are plenty sharp enough in it. No red today, but I have seen some in the past. Have a great day all!
Very nice Jason! In reading reviews, Autumn Glory is a hit with some and a miss with others. Enjoy your day.
I think that would be the least of it for our soon- to- be Private Myles Wilson USMC. Tomorrow morning he will be facing the biggest challenge in Boot Camp. It is The Crucible portion of his training. It's 54 hrs of 8 different combat challenges that he faces using all the knowledge that he has obtained through his previous 9 weeks. It tests a recruits mettle to see if he/she has what it takes to be a Marine. It is a hard because they only sleep 4 hrs a night and have to ration 2 1/2 meals during that time. It ends this Sat morning on the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 with each recruit passing this challenge and getting his/her Eagle/Globe/Anchor badge and can be addressed as a Marine. Let's keep him in prayer that he finishes strong. Officially, he will still be in boot camp until his graduation on Sept 24, but his training is finished this Sat.
Nicely done. I think you manage the Hawk V3 OC better than I do. I have only used the Proline blades in it as that is what I have on hand. Would the standard Feather AC blades be any more mild in it?
