very cool .awesome pocket set Mike.i have little experience with the old types but they are a treat to look at..
Thank you, Gary! This razor is another new addition to my collection and my first time using it. It is also my first Gillette of the "New Improved" 1920's era. It shaves a bit different from the later "NEW" models from Gillette, but still a very great, smooth shave.

monday black handle flare tip 7oclock black razo-rock bruce baume.b givenchy gentleman hello gents.. another fine shave with the black handle.. awesome. have a fine monday..
Today's shave was, other than the suribachi bowl, an all-Gillette lineup... Razor: 1938-1945 Gillette USA "early-war" Tech, aka "pre-war" Tech Blade: My last NOS 1973 Gillette Super Silver Platinum Plus Soap: 1970s/80s NOS Gillette Original Shaving Cream Brush: Art of Shaving Gillette badger Power Brush Lather Bowl: 7" suribachi bowl Finish: Gillette After Shave Gel This was a very fine shave with the early-war Tech. Mild but very efficient. Feeling quite smooth all over save for a few trouble spots but even there, barely feeling any stubble ATG. The blade was smooth and very sharp which no doubt benefitted the shave. Honestly, I believe it is the same blade as what is known as the Gillette "Spoiler", just different packaging. It goes without saying but going to say anyway.. this Gillette cream is fantastic stuff. So much so IMHO that I just purchased six more tubes and am waiting for them to arrive. As for the brush, I did not use the power feature. Doesn't even have any batteries in it. It was marketed as oscillating but, disappointingly, it doesn't oscillate. It vibrates. Still, the badger knot feels nice and works very well powerless.
