65 a puck....too expensive for me. But that is a weak comment, given that I am considering a Bill Neumann soap(also 3x-milled), but the smaller kind(less $$$ too). The Bill Neumann 4 oz sells for $18)

You're right, I probably would. But as for now I do love it.

I completely understand, Paul. I think my Tabac pucks were less than $10 each when I purchased them, and they're hard to beat in my world.

I try not to agree with @jtface very often, but nothing beat Arko in terms of cost vs. performance. Especially if you're concerned about insect control, staying single, removing mold and fungus, curing athlete's foot, stripping paint, and de-greasing engines in addition to shaving. ;)

Preferences are subjective, but that's what makes the world go round. After we all learned how to shave well, we'd have nothing else to discuss here if we all used the same stuff. (Yes, this old hillbilly has done gone and got philosophical.)

    Have a great Saturday, Paul.

Was this back when they first became famous, or recently? Noone can still belt'em out today just as he did 50 years ago.

We saw 'em a little over 20 years ago, but I still enjoy listening to them on YouTube occasionally.

My sister's B.A. was in Philosophy but she hasn't done a thing with it. Good pointers, Charlie....I got an Arko stick PIFED by someone, and have had athlete's foot since my teen years. Might be time to try the BIG A on my feet, eh? You enjoy today, too. :)

I'm glad they've been together all these years. My dad LOVED "I'm Henry VIII I Am". I love "Cant You Hear My Heartbeat"(especially the guitar part in the middle...course the guitar in the middle of Henry Vlll is kinda nice, too).

First Survey comment: Well, we're only 2 days into the month(not even that, I guess) which makes it pretty early to project a winner, but "I Do Not Have Any Challenges" has broken out into a huge lead. Insurmontable? Ahh, we'll let the month progress to find out.

I personally believe, with no proof of course just MHO, the clogging had something to do with the shaving creams in use at the time and their formulations. Add to that a bunch of hair, and probably in some cases where they didn't have running water to rinse out a razor good during a shave, and it was the perfect recipe for clogging.

Colonial Silversmith/Treet Falcon, Homelike Start 1.18/Kai. Weird that a Kai blade won't seat properly in the Colonial. Super smooth but leaves more head stubble than I like, the more aggressive Russian razor does better there with the Kai.[IMG]

    Good morning guys!

    Müehle R102
    Gillette 7 o clock PermaSharp (?)
    Stirling Boar Brush
    Stirling Spice SS and AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's WH
    Beard Growth: 26 hrs

    20211002_103256.jpg

I decided to keep the open comb theme going by using the same razor from yesterday's shave. Tbh, it is my only open comb razor. I replaced yesterday's blade with another 7 o'clock, but I knew it was not a fresh blade because it was unwrapped in my drawer. I am thinking this blade was used with the other one when I stack them in my ShakeSharp. Still, I got a velvety, smooth BBS shave on 3 passes without any mishaps. I just like the Spice scent that I will replace it when I eventually make an order from Stirling. I am a member of their rewards program and I have a 50 dollar credit to apply on future purchases. It almost equals 4 soaps. :happy036:

I got very little feedback from the alum and surprisingly, I didn't get any from the aftershave. Just a word of caution, you may have an allergic reaction to the soap and scent because I do get some tingle from it. I do not mind, but I just thought I would put it out there.
Anyway, I am still relaxing with a mild fever and a little malaise from not sleeping well the last 2 nights. Have an awesome day, guys!

Nice pic, post and shave, Jeff! My favorite go to razor for a heashave is my ShakeSharp. I also like my Schick E-3, my 2 Rockwells and my R102 for headshaving. What are your top razors for headshaving?

That’s interesting that you're having problems seating the Kai blade in the Silversmith. They are supposedly a smidge wider than other blades. I love mine, but don’t think I've ever used a Kai with it. I’ll have to give it a go sometime, Jeff! The Homelike Shaving razors have a great rep. Ikve never shaved with one.

Plenty of proof , the most obvious being the '33 patent app for the Barbasol NFH razor which directly addressed this issue of brushless creams clogging .

I wish the Homelike guy's videos were available with English translations. Yes he does great work.
