  8. Picked up a pretty clean example of a Filarmonica 13 DT.

Have some edge work near the point, but should go well.

  11. Tom, can you describe what the thing is about Filarmonica razors? Compared to other brands similar grinds and sizes. Thanks!

  12. Very well taken care of. Good find.

  13. Hans, the look and feel of the “14” (Spanish or German) was what actually got Filarmonica on my radar. I have less experience with the 13 or the 12, so I added this one. My personal experience (8-10 blades) matches a lot of what you read: geometry gives small even bevels, the grinding for the full hollows delivers a great song on the strop, and I like that feel during the shave. Throw in that Steve has tested the longevity on a couple blades, and they deliver lasting performance.

But as a collector/hobbyist, I look for unique examples or opportunities, and this one was a good deal. :)

Thanks Scott. Hone wear looks minimal, and no real signs of being on a buffer, so I wonder if this was an example that didn’t have embellishments on the blade face… similar to the ones you and I have from the South American market.

  14. Question: what is a reasonable price for this Henckel 6/8” razor?

  15. Probably not the answer you want, but what is a fair price for one person, is much to high for another.
Me, $35 is all I would spend, because I have several Henckels, and dont need another.

  16. Thanks, now it’s up to $55 and 5 days left on the auction. Besides that, quality of the razors?

  17. They are very good quality, but I would rather have a good Swedish CVH.
  18. Thanks, there is no reason to hunt this razor down in other words

  19. Not unless you have to have one in your collection.
F.W.Engels and C-Mon's are much better, in my opinion. A nice Filarmonica is also one to own, but very pricey, for one in very good condition.
  20. Nice old W&B in today in unrestored condition. About 30 minutes after cleaning it up, this is what I have ended up with.
