I have the 2019 LE for the 30DC crew meetup. Actually, I ran out of the soap, but still have the aftershave. My version is rebranded Stirling Tsuka.

Well, it is been awhile, but today I had 2 full meals and it felt good. This morning, I had a substantial breakfast of challah bread french toast with 2 eggs, bacon, Canadian ham and sausuage. I haven't had that much protein in one sitting for a long time, but my body craved it. Perfect timing for the Long Island meetup. This afternoon, I just picked on some dry shredded wheat and had a half a teaspoon of peanut butter. Tonight, I got a six inch hero of teriyaki chicken with lettuce, spinach and tomato with a bag of baked chips. I just got home and my body temp was 98° F. I am just staying under the covers relaxing like I did most of the day. It is nice to be able to eat substantially knowing full well that it is a sign that I truly have gotten better. Please as a public service announcement, get this year's flu shot so you won't have to be laid up in bed for almost 2 weeks.

Well, so much for my adherence to the rules. I have a few shaves to post but both were almost totally different.


I put a third time use Gillette Silver Blue blade in a brand new King C. Gillette razor (not the Heritage one…the edging one) and whipped up some Stirling Baker Street with my PAA Atomic Rocket. The shave was decent but either the blade was past its prime or I wasn’t able to find the right angle for the razor. I had some irritation along my jawline under my chin.


Today’s shave was much better but still not great. I loaded a second use Treet Platinum blade into a Schick DE razor (Krona is not a given…more in a sec). I made a ridiculously frothy lather with Stirling Sheep and a PAA Atomic Rocket, truly spectacular, fluffy, marshmallow like lather. I don’t have much experience with these blades but I’m guessing that this one was used up. I achieved a reasonable DFS shave but, more importantly, an irritation free and enjoyable shave.

I’ve read some things about the Schick DE razors, essentially that they sold DE razors that were more or less a Krona but they weren’t calling it that yet. Someone offered the term pre-Krona as an option to describe the older, heavier models without wording on the doors and a metal twist knob.

Regardless of what you call it, I absolutely love these razors. I have four of them now. I had considered selling three of them but I may just horde them so I always have one around. For lack of a better way to say it, they are my spirit animal of shavers. I realize I haven’t used the vast majority of razors but there is such a wide margin between the shaves I get from this than any other razor. The handle is the perfect length, it tapers which is unusual but very comfortable, and the weight is just right, especially the earlier, heavier model.

So I feel like I continue to learn and am enjoying the process. I hope everyone is having a good month and great shaves.

Skully, this is his time of year, easily whipped up a very nice and thick lather. I did my usual three pass shave. The shave was comfortable and close with the street blade. I had to engage in some additional buffing, therefore, the blade met the same fate as the soap. I decided to add an extra layer of scent with the Floid Genuine. It is a clean classic scent that I believe paired nicely with the balm.

I did the "back nine" of Agadir bodywash, then Razorock Tuscan Oud shave and Agadir A.S. A rubber-stamp of the "front nine" of yesterday will do, but I'll be like Bill Shakespeare and do the write-up. There's something about this AgadirMen Sport Bodywash(which doubles as a shampoo if you want). 0:45 to load the Stoylin brush(Pro Handle)with the Razorock(Tuscan Oud)soap, Very well-done all around(the shave itself). Some red stuff happened at N.Porcupine Alley, but it was easily controlled by the cold-water rinse and A.S. Cactus Nation looks great, save for the ingrown hairs. Outta This World Excellent.

I brought out the RR Classic because I haven't used it in awhile. Unfortunately, the scent has dissipated and the soap is not as enjoyable. I think whipping the lather off the puck tends to destroy the scents. It has happened to my Stirling soaps as well when they were almost used up. Anyway, tge soap still produces a nice lather. I needed 3 passes because the blade just about had it so it will be binned. Got a nice shave, but did get feedback from the alum. Witch hazel and a double portion of Old Spice topped the shave.
