    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

The Eco Warrior soap bar provided a wonderful slick lather rubbing it directly into my stubble like a shave stick, then started to build up a lather with my damp Semogue 1470 adding water to the tips of the brush to get the lather to the consistency that i prefer.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Wilko Lemon & Black Pepper Body Butter.

My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

I suspect my current boxes are older stock as I ordered mine in bulk from a place that was selling cheeeep. I think the newer blades have blank paper and laser etched blade markings on one side only. Mine have a traditionally marked wrapper and either burned-in or black ink marked blades.

Prepping for hopefully camping in a couple days. I hope it comes thru and they don't cut the water off due to freezing concerns. I was hoping for my annual Camp Shave Video..........This soap is only adequate but the scent is KILLER good. Stirling Texas on Fire is a better quality soap and closest to this on scent. If it had the WCS scent it would be the ultimate for me. The A Repeater performed well but the Proline Injectors are rubbish to me. I LOVE their AC style blades but the Chinese Schick Injectors are much sharper and better than these tuggy things on my whiskers. Caught my 85 year old stepdad trying to pull his water heater that died yesterday and so today in between work I will go get a new one installed for him. Have a great day everyone !

SOTD THURSDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 28, 2021

As we wind down on OC October, I decided to pull out some classics for this morning’s mug and noggin shaves. One of the first razors I acquired was this Puma 88. I was looking for a round toed 5/8 and this razor was offered up in trade a few years ago for two of my Gillette TTOs, a Super Speed and a Blue Tip. As far as I was concerned we both came away happy. The edge on this hollow ground Solingen blade is superb, and two and a half passes with some final flatblading this morning attested to this fact, leaving me porcelain smooth.

I always enjoy shaving with this Gem Model 1912. There’s just something about the great-looking Art Deco handle and it’s heft in hand that just feels right to me. I enjoy my DEs, but really like the rigidity a Gem blade provides. Blade chatter isn’t a concept that makes sense with respect to Gems, injector or AC blades, and is the reason I dumped the Blue Tip and Super Speed. The only DEs I have all clamp the blade well and still any chatter. This little vintage razor put the baby to bed on my noggin in two silent ATG passes, leaving me velveteen smooth from shoulders to dome.

RAZOR: Puma 88 5/8 (Mug), Gem Model 1912
    BLADE: Pella PTFE Gem
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: JR Rosewood Silvertip Badger
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Fine Lavender Pour Homme AS Splash.

The Eufros Sandalo Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #41 2-band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette English Raised Flat Bottom NEW Razor with an Astra SP gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Great shave, Dave! I was surprised to hear your thoughts on the Schick Proline injectors. I have a heavy beard, and they perform well for me! Well that’s what makes this hobby so interesting for me. Glad you have a good replacement for them! Enjoy your day!

Thanks Jeff. While I wouldn't call my beard heavy the whiskers are like Kevlar tough. The Schick has ALWAYS performed for me but reading reviews I thought I'd try the Proline.......no bueno for me but glad they work well for you. They're easier to procure. Have a good day !
