1. Thank you Billy.

And right back at you… that blade is a stunner.

  2. That’s a beauty Billy! I’m anxious to hear your experiences with it.

Cordonnier à Orleans, a rattler. Cordonnerie means ‘cobbler’ as in someone who repairs shoes. Probably a shop name?

Soap was MdC agrumes lathered with a keyhole copy from @life2short1971 - and a splash of Myrsol limon finished this frameback Friday’s shave.

  4. The second Hisha-kaku 500 (rook-bishop, from Japanese chess/shogi and the 1960’s cult yakusa movie) came in today to pair up with its brother. Nice to see this one, these are some of the finest made razors that I’ve ever seen by anone in any country. 1/4 hollow and shorter blades, the bevels are all but invisible because they’re ground so thinly at the edge.

  5. This arrived today rather unexpectedly - I had thought that it was lost.

  6. Very nice. Any idea when it was made?
  7. It’s post War 2 style, so I’d guess 1950 - 1960, maybe early 1960s.

Billy has gotten some of these kinds of German razors and now has me looking for them too, so maybe he is a better one to date it.

    Best,

    Steve

  17. Glad they made it to you intact Hans. I had thought those scales were of the natural variety. :)
  18. Thanks Tom, I have a plan to change the scales into something more exotic then plastic. Same size and shape of course, could be a good hobby Wintertime. Also a good opportunity to polishing up the whole blade from dirt and rust.
