Cold water face wash with brush squeezings, Cold Water Face Rinse. / Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Arko Comfort AS-Cologne+ASB.

    Greetings,

Early Thursday morning 'Turkish themed' shave,

Last outing of the Willy's Premium which paired together excellently with the Parker 98r feeling super smooth, cutting through my stubble effortlessly maintaining a smooth sharp efficient edge with each shave.

A wonderful performance from the humble Derby shave stick that always provides an acceptable lather for my shave without drying out on my face inbetween each pass, leaving a good post shave feel.

A Enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Arko Comfort ASB.

My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

  2. Fine shave as always Barry. I have never tried Derby soap, but I heard that it does lather well. Enjoy the rest of the day!

  3. Will have to check into this, for two cans...one for my chimp and one for me. (Wait, I don't have a chimp, chuk yuk yuk). But you're right-they probably can.

  4. Quality shave this morning, just as I want all my Throwback Thursday shaves to be. Nothing too fancy about it, just the Gillette can and the Bill Neumann A.S. I doused the can a bit before the shave. I think that's a good idea. I need to make a habit of lifting my glasses frames so as to work around the sideburn area. I may have said that earlier, but there it is again. Nice work along the cheeks. Same for Porcupine Alley and MOST of Cactus Nation. I missed the top right part of the latter. I know, I know....I'll get it tomorrow. The Bill Neumann is working nicely as I write this-settling in and showing me that it really IS "skin food". (Course I never doubted Doc Bill). Super Duper Excellent-a good grade considering the miss at Cactus.Have a nice day, gentlemen.

  7. Is it because the blade you use doesn't matter? I have certain preferences for types of blaes. Enjoy your day, Jeff!

  8. For the most part yes, i get good shaves from virtually any blade and doubt if blindfolded i could tell most apart (first use Feather maybe excepted). The Falcon seems particularly smooth to me.

  9. Not quite the top grade, but good enough. I'll be shavin in your Chem. lab bathroom tomorrow(more details later)-no need to flip on those things that Burn Bunsens. :).

  11. :signs001: Joe...If your a fan of Arko, then i recommend you give the Derby soap-stick a try .IMHO it performs better than Arko, but both lather wonderfully, especially living in a hard water area of the UK like i do.

  12. I have to widdle down my soap inventory before I consider adding to it. Derby is definitely on the back burner.

  16. Real nice shave completed this Thursday morning. I have to say I am absolutely impressed by how good the vintage cosmair polo green aftershave balm smells. Smells better than the normal aftershave splash to my nose. Starts off nice and bright, green and goes in a nice Smokey tobacco direction. Real nice stuff. Hope everyone has a great day!

Razor: Wade & Butcher 13/16 “Bow”
Brush: CRD Patriotic Swirl 26 mm Synthetic
    Lather: Razorock XXX
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk
    Additional Care:
    Nivea Cool Balm
    Stirling Alum Block
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Day 3 of this week’s mini focus. A different set of hardware for today’s shave but remaining with the W & B vibe. Three passes has left my face supremely smooth without any report from the alum. Now that is a really good shave.

I decided to remain indoors today except for a brief moment to collect some firewood. I managed to complete some chores and make some homemade Italian bread. My son is definitely going to be happy.

I am planning on taking this rabbit hole we call wetshaving to another level. I picked up an A. Witte straight off of the Bay for $6. I am going to attempt to restore it myself. If I does not work out, it is just 6 bucks. I am sure I will enjoy the process.
Hope you have a great day gentlemen.

  20. Awesome shave Joe. Moreover, that is a big step in trying to restore a razor. Looking forward to before and after pics.
