Thanks Tim. I dig the Tell Tale Heart set that you have used recently. It looks so cool. I missed that one but bought the AS in a secret stash drop. This years' Murder at the Holy Black is fun, but honestly is it a lot of paper and plastic bags. They did it well but I prefer the horror themes like you. Dr Jekyl, Tell Tale, Vampire, and even the supernatural Black Magic sets were all outstanding. For me, I have so many soaps, I try to limit acquisitions (although I'm not good at it), and like to focus on things like the HB drops of limited editions.

 

Thank you Paul. I appreciate it. I must admit I am a sucker the Holy Black sets. They are well themed and this was one of their best.

SOTD MONDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 8, 2021

Those of you who’ve been reading my daily SOTD posts know I’m a Victor Creazzi straight razor fanboy! I own two of his razors, both of which are incredible mug shavers. Most of Vic’s razors have a very distinctive blade shape and feature a slightly smiling blade which I like. This particular shorty features his distinctive blue ‘mycarta’ (his spelling) scales, since he makes them himself, and really feels great in hand.

The little 7/8 Shorty does not share his regular blade shape, for whatever reason, and arrived honed to perfection as all his razors are with a very slightly smiling blade. After experiencing a racing stripe on my first shave with it, I blunted the toe point and have really enjoyed shaving with this razor ever since. I confess that I do like shorties, and experienced my first successes on my troublesome neck stubble with them. Two and a half passes with this elegant little razor left my mug quite smooth.

My son is a fan of Gillette Pure shave cream, and has been urging me to try it. The MrEE Monster Tuxedo Synth whipped up a fine, thick, yogurty lather for my noggin shave after first generating the thinner, more watery lather I prefer for my mug. The lather was slick and seemed to leave a decent skin feel afterwards, although in all honesty I prefer my regular MWF.

The acknowledged #1 AC safety razor for many of the YT shaving gang is the Blackland Vector, and I really do enjoy shaving with mine. My favorite AC razor, however, is the Colonial General V2. Yes, the head isn’t as slim as the Vector’s, but it is still remarkably maneuverable and when equipped with a Feather Super effortlessly sweeps away my dome stubble as it did this morning in two ATG passes leaving me velveteen smooth from dome to shoulders.

Day 8 of 3D Printed Razor Month.

The Kiss My Face Shave Cream lathered well with the Oscar11 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Darwin-Stoll Jr. 3D Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This Glacial Strawberry Lemonade soap and aftershave are not only freezing cold, they smell absolutely GORGEOUS. The strawberry notes are more dominant in the scent but you can still pick up a little lemonade as well. The lather is so rich, the slickness is fantastic so the blade skates across your face, and the menthol sensation pummels you as soon as you start lathering up not to mention how much stronger it gets with each pass. The Glacial Unscented balm moisturizes and gives lots of extra menthol goodness, and the Glacial Strawberry Lemonade aftershave has such great staying power- not only that, it feels borderline painful (in a good way!) because it’s so frigid. The Minora blade is quite a bit duller but it still helped me get a super duper BBS shave!

What a delightful way to start the week. Love the Seaforth Shave Soaps, they lather easily and well, smell divine and work so very well for me. The SNMIRN razor is such a surprise in that it shaves me closely, easily and very comfortably. It really is a bargain as I only paid $9.99 shipped to me. Not sure how long the magnets that hold the head together will last but I'll enjoy it till they quit. So all is well, my face is happy & ya'll need to go enjoy your day

MMMonday shave, Nov 8th 2021

Razor: Star bar #4 lather catcher- Mfg 1919-20, might of been the last models of the Star lather catchers MFG, tame mid range, beautiful design and works like a charm. I always get excellent shaves with razor and is one of my favorites. Excellence IMO.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(2) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore, nice mild vanilla & tobacco scent with excellent lather qualities.(Misted)
Brush: Yaqi 24mm High mountain Silver tip badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice scrubber + great painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe and bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(balm) + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers = Excellent shave with my Star bar #4 with a coated Gem blade.
