Thank you Joe. The restoration with the 320 grit paper took about 20 minutes. Up next will probably be the 500 grit paper.

    SE Shave # 226 - MICROMATIC & DARKFALL MONDAY

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: GEM Micromatic Open Comb
    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Brush: Epsilon Horse Hair
    Lather: Declaration Grooming Darkfall
    Aftershave: Declaration Grooming Darkfall
    Additional Care:
    Nivea Cool Balm
    Stirling Alum Block
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original
    Declaration Grooming Darkfall EdT

The start of another week in the MOLC. It is a beautiful Fall day here on LI. The weather makes a perfect pairing with DG Darkfall. Love this combination.

The MMOC easily took care of this morning’s growth the the usual three passes (WTG, ATG & XTG). The MMOC, as well as any of the GEM razors in the den, delivers an awesome shave.

This week, during my down time between errands, I plan to continue to work on my razor restoration project.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

Hey, where's my rubber stamp? I sure need it for today, as the result was the same as yesterday(course I have a different arsenal today). A painless cut(might that be a giant Knick) at S. Porcupine Alley ruined an otherwise great shave. My Bay Rum combo really did nicely. Finally the Jeeves soap is moving downward in the middle of the tub. 0:50 to load the Jayaruh. 2 healthy passes(if we aren't talkinabout the giant Knick, that is). N. Porcupine turned out fine, as did Cactus Nation, cheeks and sideburns. Stephan A.S. to finish, then 3 spritzes of Pierre Cardin(elbows, wrists, and back of neck). Super Duper Excellent.

Very nice shave Paul! Spritzes of PC must mean that your planning on going to Aisle 12 today.

Marvelous MOC Monday shave Joe. Does your horsehair get so tangled that you have to comb it out? It is going to be about 60 degrees let's enjoy our nice day on LI.

    good day gents:)
the tech focus continues with an aluminum example..
the german tech.the blade is held with a higher curvature than other techs,
resulting in more blade rigidity and a slightly different angle of attack.
is it better?..to me just different.i believe the design didn't last long 2-3 years..not sure.
fine 2 pass shave all the same, though the light weight of this razor took a bit to get used to.
lovely klar face lather with the soc boar.
    clarins a/s to finish

    awesome.

    after a few shaves with the brit fb and canadian war techs;
the shaves are fabulous but little difference felt between the razors themselves.
both have similar prewar shaped baseplates like a new lc.
the post war designs offered better blade clamping resulting in more rigidity making for a smoother shave, though a touch milder feeling.
    opinions vary..;)

thave a great rest of monday everyone.

Nice pic and post Jeff. I need at least 2 passes for me to have a good shave with a 30 hrs and above stubble. Is your one pass on a full 1 day stubble?
