My shaving needs are mostly met, very well by my own recipe for shave soap. But, when using a shavette, I get some irritation inside my thighs. Following a recommendation given here, I am supplementing it with a little Proraso Sensitive on my thighs. It works, but I HATE the scent. I would appreciate some recommendations for unscented creams (preferably in a tube) that could be used in a similar way. Thanks all.
I like Kiss My Face fragrance-free cream. Good results, and it is very gentle to skin. It is available on Amazon, but I find in local stores, too. Last bottle I got was in a natural foods grocery store. My face also reacts badly to Proraso.
Ditto on kmf. Comes in a pump bottle which might be very convenient. It's also good for making super lather with a hard soap
It's been a while since I used it, but IIRC, Pacific Shaving's Natural didn't have much of any scent, Also, a new poster on B&B was recently raving about Coochy Cream from Amazon. Their Au Natural claims to be fragrance free.
Is Kiss My Face still the same product it was a few years ago? If I remember correctly it was discontinued and the company sold or something or I could just be full of poop and have no clue. I have never used the cream, but have heard good things about the cream in the past.
Gillette Pure is a good cream to try and it's very lightly scented. Walmart carries it, I've also seen it at Krogers. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk
@brit don't bother. Burt's Bees doesn't lather. Unless you like that. I took three strokes with the razor, then promptly wiped off the BB and re-lathered! Hey, it's your shave. Enjoy it your way!
It wasn't discontinued, and the company was indeed sold. Kiss my Face shave creams and probably some other KMF products were not manufactured while the company underwent a 6-10 month restructuring after the sale. The current product base is the same as the original, though I think a few underperforming scents were discontinued and a few new ones were added. The only recent thing I've heard is that the company has gotten itself in trouble with it's "natural" branding. Watchdogs claim that some ingredients fail to meet the standards for a "natural" product. Regardless of the ingredients, it's a top shelf performer at a bottom shelf price (per ounce). It does come in tubes, as well as in the more economical pump bottles. Save the working pump from an empty bottle before trusting the new bottle's pump. Every so often one doesn't work.
I have the caffeine infused version along with the aftershave balm in my dopp kit. It's good stuff and it works with a brush. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk
