    Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the weekend...

Last week i used the Indian Gillette 7'oClock SP, carrying on with the parker 98r for the rest of the month pairing it up with Trig stainless blade another blade made by the Treet co in Pakistan...They come in two different covers green & blue , both have impressed me with their sharp longevity and smoothness and match up wonderfully with each razor i have paired them with....As with a lot of other DE blades the Trig blade can be a little rough on the first pass, but after that they mellow out.... As to say which is the better blade between the different covers they are the same blade IMHO just in different packaging for selling purposes like a lot of DE blades.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of The Real Shaving Co. Post Shave Soothing Balm.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

    Shavette Shavette # 152

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Razor Retro Shavette
Blade: Kai Captain Pro Titan Pro Touch MG
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
    Lather: Stirling Sandpiper
    Aftershave: Stirling Sandpiper
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original
Happy Saturday gentlemen. I received a wonderful shave with the lather for the always spectacular Stirling soap. I do smell good, although, this is not one of my favorite scents by Stirling. Three passes with the Shavette have left my face comfortably smooth.

I am ready for another wonderful weekend in the Burgh. As they say here: “Here we go Steelers!” Going to be a bit chilly and possibly wet.

Hope you all have a great week gentlemen

That's a nice setup to give you a great shave Joe. Andrew from Colorado (Linuxguile), who hasn't been posting on TSD in almost 2 yrs, piffed me an unused Stirling Sandpiper sample. I also didn't care for it. Have a good day.

    Focus Shave - Fourth Razor
    Razor: Lupo 95
    Blade: Nacet
    Brush: Viking Soap Co.
Soap: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
    AS: Old Spice

My next focus razor is one I have not used for a while. When I purchased it used, it quickly disappeared as my boys really liked it. Their use of it has trailed off and I have retrieved it for my own pleasure. I had forgotten how smooth and wonderful this razor is. I have no irritation at all, head and face. I hate to admit it, but I think it performs better than my second Nov focus razor, the Karve D. The Karve left my face feeling a little hot each time I used it. I will be using the Lupo for a few more shaves to really focus in on it. @Trigger I am amazed you can keep going with the VDH for 10 consecutive shaves!

Let me say-I have had better shaves. It began all right with fine work along the cheeks&sideburns. Travelled south to Porcupine Alley. Slow and steady up the left side-worked out well. The right side doesn't require as much carefulness(is that a word? It is now). The trouble came at S. Porcupine. On the right side I could actually see through the mirror my shaving action that resulted in a tremendous cut. Too much pressure, I believe. Maybe an angle persuasion as well. At any rate, it was BAD. I got out the Neospsorin and a bandage, and proceed down to Cactus Nation. I did all right down there, considering the bad cut. Worst I'd seen in quite a while. Let me take that back-I was just hoping it would be OK until the overall cold-water rinse, which helped it some. THEN I did the Neosporin/bandage thing. To punish myself, I'm considering leaving all of S. Porcupine for a few days. The great smell of Clubman A.S.(IMO) made me feel a bit better. Kind of Excellent.

Terrific setup and shave Eric. When you say that your face is hot, I am assuming you mean irritation. If that's the case, than you need to be a lighter on the Karve. It seems to me that there is a natural instinct that applying more pressure will result in a more efficient shave. Trust the razor and the blade to do the work.
I did the focus this month because I haven't done one in awhile and picking the VDH was a smart move for me.
Two years ago, I did a 30 shave rule with a 5/8 Wostenholm (Wosty) straight razor using the same soap, brush and Aftershave. Since I do not shave every 24 hrs, it took a month and half to complete it so this focus is really a piece of cake.

You should look into the 'Trigger/Trig ancestral history'..The Trigger family may have a Subcontinent connection .!:p..The Treet Trig Silver Edge has worked well with the Parker 98r, i do prefer Platinum/Titanium coated to stainless steel, but with my technique vastly improved and gained more shaving confidence i can use most DE blades and get acceptable results....Even with blades that i haven't liked when first entering the wonderful world of traditional wet shaving...'Technique trumps Tools'..Take care Joe. Yours-Barry.

    Good morning everyone!

    Maggard's Alum Block

I decided to pick Music City Suds Lavender because it is one of my favorite soaps. I just love this scent and it always gives me a great lather. I bloomed it and used the water as a preshave. I really loaded the brush with 300 swirls and I was treated to a great lather.
Two passes gave me a near BBS shave with no mishaps. The alum didn't give me any feedback so I really got a nice comfortable shave. Witchazel was applied and I followed it with a generous portion of the matching juice. Tomorrow will be the last shave (#10) for this focus. I am looking forward to using my straights for the last 2 weeks of this month. Max and Artie are my two hatchets and they are getting restless. Have a great day!

I hope everyone is doing great. This has been my set up all week long. For some reason I just kept Monday's shave going. I'll skip shaving this weekend and do another week-long shave set up starting Monday.

I really enjoy the Colibri razor. It never disappoints. Three passes and I'm smooth. I did go to a fresh blade on Wednesday......if it don't feel right just put a new blade in.

Take care everyone and keep those awesome shaves up!
