:signs001: Joe..That's what happens when we reach for your usual favourite suspects, we forget about other shaving soft & hardware that give equally good if not better sometimes shaving results. Take care.

Aaaaaand a nice shave this morning. The Razorock soap(Tuscan Oud)is quite soft, makes for good loading. (I should note, some Razorock soaps are 3x-milled, which hardens the loading, as well as the soap i tself). 0:30 for the first load. Everything went real well, although I found it a little hard to get the whiskers just south of the borderline of Porcupine Alley and Cactus Nation(thus, on the Cactus side). I'll focus on this part tomorrow. I sure hope I'm not extending the ingrown hairline area! 0:10 of loading time before the 2nd pass. Agadir for the aftershave and Mutamayez to finish it all off(as the post-shave fragrance). I was pleased overall. Most Excellent.

Thanks Eric! Wait until you see Artie and Mad Max this month. They are 13/8 and 10/8 custom straight razors, respectively.

Le Coq caged head/Derby USTA. The caged head has extreme exposure and will tug or skip if not handled carefully so getting away clean with my head shave is always a relief. Great close shave with the USTA blade.[IMG]

    Super shave Jeff.
Do you think the reason the razor tugs or skips may be the design is not suitable for headshaving because of the contours and curves of the dome? Does the tugging happen with face shaves, too?

Good question. And I think you have it exactly right, i don't have skipping issues on the flats. I wouldn't say it's unsuitable just demanding as a head shaver.

Very nice shave with the RR soap. I have had several members of various forum express their fondness for the soap.

    Good evening!

    Straight Razor Shave # 309
7/8 Herder and Sons Ace of Spades
    Stirling Boar Brush
    Shannon's Soap The Warrior
    Stirling Bay Rum Aftershave
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 26 hrs

I normally let my beard grow at least 30 hrs, but I wanted to shave tonight with one of my straights in case I get called in to sub.
Shannon's soap requires a lot of water to produce a nice, slick lather. Did 2 passes, but I was not satisfied with this razor's performance so I refreshed it with my strop of chromium oxide (Crox). Third touchup pass did the trick. There was never a matching aftershave with this soap, therefore, I used the Bay Rum. It was a nice shave. I need to do a headshave, but that can wait another day. Take care.
