Tuesday Focus: Mitchell's Wool Fat cont'd Razor: Star Blade: Feather Brush: Omega 177 Soap: The Fat AS: CVS Blade (Aqua Velva) Tonight I wanted to select a milder razor. Went with the seldom used Star with a Feather blade. Something about The Fat scent puts me in mind of pairing it with Aqua Velva. The Omega brush knot is rather small. After about a month I was hoping it would bloom out as it breaks in, but the hairs do not seem to be splitting yet. The brush is not uncomfortable (I am not a face latherer), just small. Still makes a great lather in spite of its size. I believe the boar brush is the secret to getting good lather out of what some consider "difficult" soaps like MWF and Williams. Shaved both face and head with the Star. Head is cue ball smooth. I did not chase a BBS on the face, and there is frustratingly some stubble left. Didn't want to risk overshaving, so left it at three passes. More to shave tomorrow
Discretion is the better part of Valor even in shaving. Excellent shaves Eric. I have the Omega Pro 49 boar brush and it really is a great performer. I bought it new 3 yrs ago for under 10 dollars. I have used Williams and it is slick, but the lather disappeared during shaves due to my hard water. It also didn't produce a voluminous lather. However, you can't expect everything from this soap because it costs under about $1.50.
Great lineup Myles! I cannot believe that almost 5 months have passed since you started Marine basic training and almost 2 months since you graduated from it. Time flies, that's for sure. Always praying for you. Take care.
Thank you Joe! Time seems to fly. Made a lot of memories that I will be able to tell to my family one day within those 3 months of bootcamp. Hope you are well friend! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Le Coq 3-piece also has a lot of exposure but is more easily managed than the caged head. USTA, MDC. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
Nice work on the Back 9 of Razorock soap/Agadir A.S. I have to stop here and give big credit to Agadir's Bodywash(Sport) as a pre-shave(in the shower). I now need to find a way to use it more often-that is, with soaps that are similar to Oud Wood. Gives you that soft feel to set up the shave(same can be said for Stoylin's bodywashes, except the latter has little fragrance, as Doc Ezlovan points out in his descriptions.). Bravo Agadir(well, and Stoylin too, for that matter). Now back to my shave. 0:30 to load the Razorock Tuscan Oud soap. I slowed things down, not just at NW Porcupine Alley, but EVERYWHERE. Got a much better result at the Porcupine/Cactus borderline, thus making sure not to extend my ingrown hair area(as I talked about the other day). That bad cut at S. Porcupine is healing well. Super Duper Excellent for this one. Remember what I said about the Agadir bodywash-that I need to find more opportunities to use it? Ditto with the Mutamayez cologne. I will definitely reorder both when they are through.
