  1. Excellent shave Eric. That razor has made its mark on the wet shaving community. Although I have some expensive razors, I have always said that you can get just as good a shave with an inexpensive razor as a top tier one.

  3. Excellent shave Eric. I believe Barry, @palmolive fox, use that razor a while back for about a week or two focus. He gave an excellent review of it as well as I recall.

    DE Shave # 368

    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Gillette SS Red Tip TTO (1959 E-1)
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: Jayaruh 329 Boar
Lather: Los Jabones de Joserra Gredos
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Gredos
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original
    Nivea Cool Balm

Fabulous Red Tip shave. When I first started using this razor I was somewhat befuddled regarding the lack of closeness I received with this razor. Gradually, I learned to adjust the angle of the blade which has resulted in stellar shaves every time I use the razor. Today was no exception.

TIp: If you seem to be having a challenge of dialing in a razor, stick with it for several shaves in a row making adjustments until you are satisfied with the results.

I am enjoying the mini midweek focus with this soap. It is slick and has a nice scent. Will I repurchase upon its completion in mid to late December? No. While I do enjoy this soap, it’s price point is too expensive as it comes from Spain. The shipping fees do not warrant the expense.

Once again, I had a wonderful three pass shave. Now it is off to PT and then breakfast before hitting the stores to purchase a new microwave. Our current one just decided to crap out in the middle of heating up some food. I initially thought I blew a fuse. I know aging myself. These days it is a circuit breaker.. The decision will be whether or not to get a micro-convention. Oven combo or not.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

  14. A nice Throwback shave this morning.. 0:40 at the loading dock for the Simpsons to do its job on the Maggard brush. A cut down at Cactus Nation was the only blemish. It proved harmless, though. 2 passes. I had some misses on the first, but said, with confidence, "aaaah, I'll get'em in the second"(which I did). The Safari A.S. gives out quite a tingle upon administration. Settled down after a minute or so. Ralph Lauren produced a winner with his Safari. Super Duper Excellent.

  15. Terrific Thursday shave Joe. I agree with you about the Redtip. I also had to adjust the angle with mine to get a more efficient shave with mine. I did the same thing with my VDH during my 2 week focus earlier this month. That is too bad about your microwave. I will have to get a new one too because my microwave is ancient, but it still works. Have a good day.

  18. Swing/USTA. The Swing razors are great but felt the USTA blade was losing its edge a bit (4th use i think). Finished the head shave with the Shake Sharp/twin USTA.[IMG]

  19. Great gear Jeff! I like the Shakesharp for headshaves, too. What is your favorite soap for your headshaves? Personally, it is Arko.
  20. I'm pretty much an all MDC guy now (though I have a bunch of other stuff sitting unused in the closet. I have a tube of Trader Joe's cream I use just for a 5 oclock going out beard pass I"ll do occasionally.
