**EDIT - 1 pass + targeted clean up. Excellent shave. The Futur is the best pure shave in my den. If the outcome of the shave is the only consideration, this is the best razor for me out of all my razors. BBS with virtually no effort and the lowest risk of irritation for the efficiency. The aftershave menthol effect felt amazing. The scent is what I imagine Iceland smells like. Brisk, cold, with herbal plants. It's the scent I imagine Superman would wear while staying in his frozen Frotress of Solitude.

Bowl: Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Kiss My Face Peaceful Patchouli Shave Cream.

A new shave set up to start the weekend...It's been a while since i last used the KMF shave cream, it created a wonderful lather without drying out in between passes the post shave feeling from this shave cream is superb... The Treet 7 day platinum are another blade that pairs well with the Parker 98r... I forgot how smooth and sharp the Treet 7 days blades are...The characteristics of them are very like the Astra SP blade in sharpness, with a slightly sharper edge ,which can be a little rough on the first pass, like a lot of DE blades, but after that they mellow out...As always DE blade opinions are very subjective...Yet again i had to rub my fingertips with a alum block inbetween each pass to stop the razor handle from slipping while shaving.

A pleasurable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

So the Hibernia soap is a great Citrus scent that performs amazingly and the this Trotter Handcraft brush is a REAL trotter as I installed a horse hair knot. It felt soft to the face dry. No break in, just a 5 minute water soak and started lathering off the tub. Saw a couple hairs lost in the tub and 2 more on the face when lathering. Maybe a couple more in the sink were spotted so reasonable for a new brush. When cleaning it up, towel strop and drying the handle, no more shedding was seen. Have high hopes for this Boti 26mm Horse knot. It was a tad scritchy but not bad and assuming it will soften with use like a Boar. Smooth, refreshed and smelling great with the Herod EDP. Bring on the coffee and Carrot Cake. Have a Stellar Day Folks !

Day 20 of 3D Printed Razor Month

The 3P Shave Soap lathered well with the Semogue 1305 Boar Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Wabbit 3D Injector Razor with a Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed..

My face is so frozen from this menthol bombardment - even the mentholated pre shave soap from Stirling started things off with a good chill, the Glacial Black Cherry’s lovely scent filled my bathroom, the lather worked up beautifully - it was so rich, it had such great slickness, the menthol sensation felt like Siberia in midwinter, and the postshave feeling was wonderful. The Prep and the Osage Rub were a perfect finish. What a cracking good BBS shave I had!

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 20, 2021

Woke up to a brilliantly sunny 28° morning, here in the Philadelphia suburbs. With Thanksgiving and the holiday season in the offing, I grabbed my Wade & Butcher 7/8 and my Cooper Monobilt, both dependable, stalwart shaving tools. My 19 year old grandson, Kevin, is moving in tomorrow to watch the three cats while SWMBO, Gromit and I wend our way to Las Vegas for our regular Thanksgiving celebration with SWMBO’s brother’s family. This is the second year Kevin is house sitting until the rest of my family arrives Tuesday. They’ll be staying through Saturday when I return. My daughter-in-law hosts at my house, for our extended family, and I’ll join virtually on Thanksgiving day, and will celebrate again there with Turducken with them on Sunday. After losing half a fifth of 25 yr-old Macallan last year, I’m locking my good Single Malts in the gun safe this year, to which only I have the combination.

I realize that I’m a terrible example to new wet shavers with the way I switch up shave equipment daily. The only consistency in my shaves is my daily use of MWF. The key to success in wet shaving is sticking with the same razor, brush and soap for at least 30 days. In fact one of the better known online shave forums has a process called the thirty day concentration with a corresponding thread called the 30DC dedicated to helping newer wet shavers master wet shaving, or even a newer piece of shave hardware or software they may be struggling with. Mentors on that thread provide guidance and direction to the struggling newbie. Yours truly shaved with the same Schick Krona originally purchased in a PX in 1968 for almost 5 decades. So I give myself a pass.

In any case, back to the shave. I’ve shaved with this W&B 7/8 for quite a while. I’ve refined the bevel to my liking and really enjoy this razor’s heft and balance in hand. I credit my son’s honing mentor, Howard Schlecter, of the Perfect Edge up near Boston with truly upping my straight razor maintenance process. His constroption, a four sided pasted stropping device, with 4 levels of stropping pastes, has dramatically improved my edges. After every shave, I run the razor through the constroption and then to my roo-skin bench strop before putting it away for the next shave. The two and a half pass mug shave this morning with this razor just reinforces my commitment to using the constroption regularly.

I first learned about Cooper Monobilt shortly after joining the Shave Den several years ago where I came across the Cooper Razor Owner’s Club. Cooper Razor of Brooklyn, NY introduced both the Monobilt and the Kant Rust safety razors among others in the early thirties. The Monobilt is made of brass which is chrome plated over a base plating of nickel. There are two models of Monobilt with identical heads, but different handle knurling. Regardless of the handle, the shave this little razor delivers is nothing short of phenomenal. The problem is there are also a fair number of Monobilts floating around with bent heads. As you might imagine, these damaged models don’t shave well. But mine shaves magnificently, as it again delivered a very smooth noggin leaving your happy narrator velveteen from shoulders to dome!

DE SOTD, Nov 20th 2021

Razor: Gillette Fatboy E4- Mfg 1959, 4th qtr, well built razor, I find the Fatboy a good adjustable and like to shave #7 pickups #8.
Blade: Gillette 7oClock SP(black)(5) sharp & smoooth and usually get 5 great shaves and then toss with this blade.
Soap: Italian barber Amici, nice mild citrus scent with excellent lather qualities.(misted)
Brush: Yaqi Atlantis 24mm synthetic, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, great scrub, great lather painter, how they got all that stuff in the handle?
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Italian barber Amici with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer lotion(balm)+ scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Gillette Fatboy with a 7 oClock SP blade.
