A delectable gourmand creation where a dash of dark bourbon combines with rich fruity nuances. Hints of salted caramel, vanilla essence and sweet buttercream bring this fragrance to a close.
Oh sorry....I believe that is what people down south (especially Texas) call "fellows". In my case, I made it silly by referring to the shave company, not individual fellows. Thanks for the compliment. It looks very nice and now, from you, it SOUNDS nice, too.
December Boar Focus Shave #3 -- Saturday Luxury Shave Razor: Yates Precision 921 M for face, H for head Blade: Rapira Lux Brush: Omega 10077 Soap: Captain's Choice 45th Parallel Continued my focus on boar hair this morning. I purchased two 10077s in September. My hope was/is that upon break-in the 22 mm knot would become more dense and soft as the hairs split, like my original 49 did a year ago. For the 49 I did the "soak for 3 straight days/brush vigorously on a towel for 10 minutes daily" routine and the bristles began to split nicely and the brush was noticeably softer after the 72 hour treatment. I got lazy with these two, and just used them regularly during October/November. The bristles are softer than they were out of the box, but they have not begun to split at all. After this morning's shave both 10077s are in a mug beginning the 72 hour soak/scrub regimen. The Yates is King in my Razor Kingdom, so it was chosen for my first use of a Rapira blade. Results were excellent, and it's a good thing because I blindly purchased 100 based on price alone. I am relived that they are compatible with my skin. The Captain makes a mighty fine cream. Very tasteful level of scent, excellent structure that stays well lathered in the bowl for quite a long time. The Captain was a fine Choice for this morning's luxury shave. Topped off with another favorite, Proraso green AS. Love love love that stuff.
Good morning all hope everyone is having a good Saturday. Figured I’d post yesterday’s shave. It would be another anniversary this month since I’ve been here on this thread and since I joined the shave den, this month since 2019. A week and a half away from being home. So excited to be around the family and friends. It’s only been 6 months but it feels like forever lol. Hope all of you are well! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Great shave and selection Eric! The Rapiras have a good rep. AS far as I am concerned, any Proraso item is fine with me. Keep using the 2 boars and the splitting of the bristles will appear. Have a good day.
new blade/Razor combo worked together suprisingly well..DE blades have to be the most subjective items 'YMMV' amongst the traditional wet shaving forums....Especially, Derby blades..The 'Usta' blade, meaning 'Master' in Turkish, is completely different to the Derby extra. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Take care.
Got my coffee ready and my fragrance of the day. I’ve really come to liking this one. Y Le parfum is a Nice dark fragrance. Starts of very fresh in the opening and darkens up a bit. I liked it initially when I first got it But I wasn’t really wowed by it. Now, the more I wear it, I’ve come to appreciate this fragrance a lot. The sillage from the wind is really nice and works extremely well in the colder weather. This one leans on the mature side of scents. Couldn’t have seen myself wearing this one back in high school. Thank you Joe. No, I do not like getting the soap wet in the tub. I scoop out an almond size sample of soap and press it into a bowl. The only time the soap every gets wets is if I have it in a mug. Therefore, if you see a mug in one of my pictures you can be certain that I whipped up some lather on to the brush before putting in the bowl. If I choose to face lather I will state it in my report.
I guess the real question is: Do the ladies like the scent? Not that you need any help being a chick magnet.
Awesome shave! Congratulations on both anniversaries, especially the 30DC. You have added a special vibe to this thread. Enjoy your time home with the family and Merry Christmas!
Wonderful shave Eric. I have used the 72 hour soak and 10 minute rub in the towel routine with a few of my boars. I have done the 10 minute rub for 7 days. I have had wonderful results with that. I love my boar brushes.
It is a nice scent and performing soap. I tend to get thin to moderately thick lathers which is fine depending my choice of razors, straight va DE/SE. I control the thickness by the amount of water I will add. Will this be a repurchase? No, for the simple reason as it is an oversea soap and the shipping is to darn expensive.
