  1. I went to the gym late this afternoon and decided to bring my sample bar soap of Stirling Sharp Dressed. Since it is wrapped in plastic, I decided to put it in my old Cryogen 4 oz container. I had to break it in so that both halves fit. As I showered, the smell was pleasant, but faint. Anyway, I like the idea of using a shave soap container filled with bar soap because it is convenient to carry and also it will be difficult to leave the soap behind in the showe. Many times I had to go back because I forgot to take it with me. Also, it's hygienic because the soap touches me and nothing else.
So I found another way to repurchase these containers besides carrying loose change in the car.

I was itching to try Stirling Bergamot Lavender Soap for the first time. I have to say that it is an earthier Lavender. I like the scent, but it is really light. I think because it is a 1oz sample the scent is not strong. It may have been laying in their warehouse for months and the scent dissipates through the plastic wrap. I have tried the other four samples and the only one that has a strong scent is their Barbershop. It is ok because Stirling soaps still perform beyond its price point.
The shave went well with 2 1/2 passes without any bloodshed or irritation. There was slight feedback from the alum. Splashed on the witch hazel and it felt good. I don't have the matching aftershave so I decided to go with the Lilac Vegetal because I felt it would complement this soap's fragrance. That's all for now so have a nice evening.

  4. Thanks Danny. I will be using more DE razors than I normally would because it is DE December. However, it is also Delightful and Decadent December and the Sons of Thunder will be making a few appearances as well. As you know, nothing is in stone, so I will be using other straights, etc.

  5. Sounds great. I'm breaking out the Tatara Nodachi in the morning. It has not seen day light since June. I love that razor but it is a tight rope walk.

    Take care.

    Additional Care:

Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera

    Chatillon Lux La Foret EdT
I am smelling and feeling good for another round of PT. Regarding the shoulder, I am heading into the home stretch. I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow with the surgeon. I should be given the go ahead to begin my X3Bar workouts. PT could conclude either today or he may authorize a few more weeks.
This morning’s shave was just plan fantastic. The DG/CL collaboration is a Fougere type scent. “La Forêt de Liguest is a dark, rich scent that smells reminiscent of fougère based in the deep, deep forest, with notes of cypress and florals complementing the woods and undergrowth.” This soap/splash combination was a limited release in the Fall of 2018

I did my usual three pass shave. The Gillette Red Tip delivered a smooth and comfortable shave.

    Cremo Bourbon and Oak

The Nodachi has not seen the light of day since June the 15th and I can honestly say this was my best shave with it to date. Three nice smooth passes with no blood loss and the alum was quiet. The Nodachi demands respect with no pressure but can deliver an awesome shave.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

  8. Very nice shave Joe. If I recall correctly, don’t you have the Music City Lavender splash or iOS it just the soap?

  11. Wonderful shave Joe. I find the RedTip shaves better for me when I only have a day's growth. Hopefully, your PT ends today and your doc will.give you the ok to get back to your exercise regimen. Enjoy your day.

  12. Glad you got a super shave from your Tatara Nodachi. Have a super day Danny.
  13. Aaaand another nice shave with the Razorock Gold/"PA" (by Paul Sebastian) combo. I ordered the "PA" from The Perfume Spot. That site offers pretty decent prices on classic, great-smelling aftershaves and colognes. 0:35 to load the Gold onto the brush. Very clean and fresh along the cheeks/sideburns. I missed a little at the jawline. That will be fixed tomorrow. Porcupine Alley and Cactus Nation are in great shape for the day. 2 passes. There were a couple polka -dots at North Porcupine, but they were cleaned off by Paul Sebastian's offering by the end of the shave. That's good. Such a pleasant scent, that "PS". Outta This World Excellent.

  14. Thanks Joe. I have the splashes for Music City Lavender and Ever as well as Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender. I don't like to pair splashes with similar scented soaps until I titanic the matching soap. The scent strength on the soap was mild that I could have used any splash. However, I chose the Lilac Veg because Lilac and Lavender go together and they both are not bright scents. I also believe that Old Spice and Clubman Classic would also pair well with the Bergamot Lavender.

  15. Very nice shave Paul. Have you been going to the gym?

  16. Haven't been going to the gym. I'm very eager to see if a new gym will replace Gold's. If that doesn't happen, I'll probably make a play for the other gym I visited and had a free week-long workout, as a trial. I did have a nice walking "tour" yesterday with my uncle and aunt at their senior facility. Thanks for the shave comment.

  17. Is the old Gold gym facility closer and that's why you are waiting. The building may be leased to a company that will use it or other purposes and that would mean you may have waited in vain. I would go join the other gym because you're losing whatever gains you made. You know the saying, a bird in the hand...

  18. I'll spin by there soon and see what it looks like now, with new ownership. One thing that upset me while I was there on the "free week", was they had no space for people to hang their winter coats/jackets. He did say they were going to fix that problem. It's about equidistant to the new one as to the Gold's area, and actually an easier drive to the new. Here's another reason I am waiting-When I become eligible for Medicare Advantage, I'd like to see about a free gym membership. That won't happen until the next "change" period, that just ended yesterday. . But you're right, as I sit here now, I'm losing what I gained.

  19. I could understand how that would be inconvenient. However, it is very important to get an exercise regimen, especially at our age.
